The worrying fact is that he obviously considered it and with Capello due to get the boot whats to say that Rafa wouldn't be tempted again? Was Rafa one of the election candidates, who obviously didn't get elected, choice of manager or was the the first choice of the uy that's in charge now?

Who would we replace him with?

Steady on there, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

No point discussing it now IMO.

Hopefully not for a long, long, time. I'd like to think that Rafa would stay and see the job through and help reshape the club from top to bottom lke Wenger and Ferguson have done.

Agreed. Hope it's not for another 10 years though. I'd love Rafa to "do a Wenger" and stay for a decade.

No ****ing idea whatsoever. I think it's fair to say if he went in the forseeable future, we'd end up with a lesser manager. Imagine if he went....imagine all the plebs the mindless press would have us linked with. "Ooh, O'Leary's out of work...".

Well if Rafa did leave, then with the new bods in charge, we can and should be able to get the best. I dunno who that is, but people like Strachan, Curbishley and Fat Sam, who all applied last time, can **** right off. It wont be anyone who manages in this country thats for sure.

                            Not very many candidates about.

But Rafa won't leave for a long time, so there'll be plenty of new managers around when he decides to go.

Once it was announced, this deal was always going to happen. There's no way Moores could have stayed on once this carrot had been dangled in front of the fans. He probably would have been willing to accept a lesser deal than the one that is on the table from DIC currently.

As for Rafa, it's encouraging to know he turned down his home club to stay with us. Obviously a loyal man with a great deal of integrity, as well as being a top manager. I think he knows he'll have all the time and support in the world at Anfield which may be wouldn't be the case at Real.

Did they really apply? What deluded ******s.

I know people out there say that top clubs should be giving young British coaching and managerial talent a chance but clubs like ours can't afford to take gambles like that. The top clubs will always be after proven managers, and that's the way it should be.
