If it is Mascherano and Neill he is talking about they would not be revealing much now would they?

But he didn't go did he?

      That's the point.

I doubt we'll see any major moves in this window. Mascherano maybe, Lucas Neill hopefully.

I say we leave the major spending until the summer. And won't it be great for a change to be going into the summer market knowing rather than hoping we have the ability to sign some top class players. Something to look forward to.

That's assuming the DIC put some major funding into the transfer kitty.

I was one of those who was laughing.

I mean at the time it sounded too far fetched. An ex scum as Liverpool manager. Be fair it did sound a bit ridiculous.

I don't think the interview told us too much that we didn't already know. We won't know anything more until the due diligence has been completed.

I'd be interested to see if Moores will remain as a shareholder / director. Not sure this would be a good idea, as it could cast a shadow on the new board. A complete takeover could be better in the long run. Although it would be nice for Moores to stay, I'm not sure it is the best for the club.

Well when you consider that it was the press and not LFC that revealed that these 2 players were targets in the January transfer window we haven't revealed anything at all and wont do until we officially sign the players.

There are many who say Rikjard only got Barca back to the top because of the coach they had. He's now gone and Barca and not as good as they used to be.
Yes, I understand that, but at the time we were hiring Shanks, Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan etc it was a completely different game. The cost of failure is too high in this game today and you cant risk hiring someone who hasn't got a track record. Can we really afford to take the chance on a former player who hasn't managed before? Last time we recruited from within it ended in tears with Roy Evans. When Fergiescum retires do you think Man U will take a chance on a Cantona, Steve Bruce or Strachan or go for someone with pedigree?

I also take on board your Rijkaard point but you would take each candidate on his merits. You would probably agree that Rijkaard is one of the exceptions - a manager who has won the big trophies but there are doubts over his ability given his poor record before joining Barca. Having said that, I would rather take him over say an Allardyce, because he has big game experience, both as player and manager.

That's true. For me though it all turned bad when the posts started about how Fat Sam was a great manager and how Curbishly - nailed on - was seen boarding an Easyjet flight to Liverpool. **** me, that was scary.

Christ I'd forgotten all that. Possibly intentionally.

Ah the days when KT was the best, or the forums were. Not Dunk.
