Read in the Metro this morning that Terry is due to sign a new contract for £150k a week. Fecking ridiculous.

Unfortunately the scum appear to have to pick of the lot in Vidic. Impressed with him this season.Originally posted by Marky18 View PostWith big Sami seemingly coming towards the end of his Liverpool career, still alot to offer if you ask me but you knwo what i mean, a replacement or two will be required in the not so distant future, with that in mind i'd like to see us go for a young(ish) English/British central defender to compliment both Carragher and Agger.
Here's a few that spring to mind
in no particular order)
Curtis Davies
A real talent, only 21 i think, pace to burn, good in the air, dominate, brave and can get you a goal from a set piece.
Gary Cahill
Brave as a lion, good reader of the game, strong lad with a great attitude, latch ditch kind of defender
Liam Ridgewell
Flourised under Martin O'Neill, excellent reader of the game, relatively quick and comfortable on the ball, thought he was **** last season but he's impressed me this season
Steven Taylor
Reminds me of John Terry, defends for his life the lad, good presence and authority about him, pretty mobile to boot.
Anton Ferdinand
Pacy as fook and a good overall defender, think he's quite a bit different to big bro Rio in terms of style, defends first and foremost but maybe isn't as good on the ball as Rio, then again not many are.Fernando Torres
I dont just love him, I'm IN love with him

£150,000 jesusI think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06
Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Um, I know we all hate him and the ****house club he plays for, but Rio Ferdinand is not ****e. A tosser? Yes. Prone to lapses of concentration? Yes. Encapsulates a lot of what is wrong about the game? Yes.
Excellent centre-half? Yes. It’s folly to suggest otherwise. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Its called opinion
I dont rate Rio at all, never have
Hes good on the ball and quick
Defensively hes appalling, look how many times he drops off the play and refuses to challenge for possession, hes only really good in the air when theres nobody within a billion miles of challenging him for it, he doesnt have any concentration, hes positionally naive
Its nothing to do with the club he plays for Vidic as someone has mentioned looks quality after a shakey start
Just never rated Rio and I dont rate his brother eitherBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Oh well, you’re entitled to it but I couldn’t disagree more. I can’t stand him and when he’s bad he’s terrible, but if you’ve had the misfortune to watch any United games this season you’ll have noticed he’s been excellent. Teams clear at the top of the table can hardly afford to be carrying an “appalling” centre back. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I agree. Houllier wanted to sign him if I remember things right.Originally posted by thesilverfoxlfc View PostI think Taylor is a good playerJust believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

In my opinion....
Rio Ferdinand isn't ****, but he is overrated. He's not as good as Carra, Woodgate, or Ledley King. He ****s out of 50 50 balls, doesn't contest headers, has crippling lapses in concentration and above all that, is a complete **** to boot. He's a decent tackler and is composed in posession. He only gets in the England team because he's experienced and he's quick. Can't stand him though. Total ******.Such an ugly face, such an ugly mouth.

If he stays fit, Woodgate. He is good enough to make Rio look like a £30m defender.
I know he's not up and coming but wasn't Rafa after him before he went to Madrid? In the life, of a man, there are times and there are seasons.
