Up and coming Centre Halves

I've seen a few times that Arneson want to bring Alex from PSV to Chelsea but Jose doesn't want him. Anyone seen him play much?

Also, not sure of his age but that Luisao from Benfica has looked good when I have seen him.

Alex and Luisao are both outstanding players from what I've seen of them.

Always thought Luisao looked decent, but I've always been worried by Brazilian Centre Backs.

The idea of Brazilian centrebacks does seem a bit crazy but Luisao doesn't seem to think he is secretly being deployed as a very deep lying forward like many of them.

Can't remember if he has been mentioned but Ledley King is very good and probably about the same age as Luisao and some of the other players mentioned. He would be expensive though.

The Dutch team seemed to have some good young CB's recently, but having seen Boulahrouz and Bouma come over and struggle after looking good at international level I'm not going to big any of them up.

Christian Chivu is a great centre half, world beater at free kicks and that Metzelder he's pretty handy!!

But I rate big Sylvain Distan at city, quick, good in the air and looks comfortable on the ball!! Wernt we linked with him?? Riggott as well??

I've signed Per Mertersacker for us on FM2007 and he's ****ing **** hot!

Metzelder pick up a very nasty injury and was out for quite some time.

Not sure if he's been the same player since as haven't really seen much of him in that time. But before his injury he was one of the best defenders around.
Mertersacker is quality IRL as well as on FM.

them two boys are class acts metzelder is one of the most underrated players in the world. he is a defender first and foremost and defends the goal with his life jus like carragher. gets no credit and does'nt enjoy the tag as being a cultured defender like ferdinand does. i fully expect ferdinand to be caught out in the business end of the CL when up against REAL world class players jus like he has been in the past.

Erm....don't you remember Metzelder playing for Germany in the World Cup last year?
He was outstanding. He would be a truly great signing - would not come cheap, but definitely cheaper
than an English counterpart.

That Mathijssen or whatever his name was who played for Holland was really good too. So was Heitinga, but I think he might have been a right back.
