I dont know what people are losing the rag over this transfer window. We're doing alright as is at the moment so if it transpires that no-one is signed this month then so be it. Our squad can cope for the rest of the season without new blood. The takeover will be in place by the summer when proper business can be done and players properly considered.

So what if Neill is gone to West Ham - decent player but its not like he's fcuking cannavaro or something. He can be replaced, quite easily I imagine. I'd be much happier if Kewell and Momo came back soon, than if we signed Lucas Neill to be honest.
    Fernando Torres

I dont just love him, I'm IN love with him

Personal terms have been agreed but the transfer fee has yet to be agreed and he has got to have a medical.

It would be funny if West Ham pulled out for whatever reason and Neill had to stay at Blackburn missing out on his silly money deal.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

Was never overjoyed at the prospect of him coming anyway tbh, strikes me as yet another quantity as opposed to quality signing, the ones we've been forced to make for years now.

The sooner we find some moolah somewhere and start buying genuine proven performers the better.

At the end of the day if Neill joins West Ham then so be it - and good luck to him as he's obviously just after the money.

Saying that, if we would have signed him then he would have added quality cover all along the back four - and this is why I think Rafa was keen on the player. He'd have pushed the current players playing in defence far for a regular start and would have been an ideal player to have in the matchday squad due to his versatility.

But it seems that it's not to be and Rafa will move on to another target in the hope that that one doesn't string us along and signs on the dotted line.

As well as doing a deal for Neill, today they've signed Callum Davenport from Spurs for £3m & Sky reporting that they had a £4m bid turned down for Upson - how many centre halfs do they need considering they've already got Ferdinand & Gabbidon?

Could be tricky for Championship strikers to score past that lot next season

Personally I'm very happy at the way the Neill transfer has gone.

I was thrilled to see West Ham come in for him. This is an ideal litmus test. In such a scenario we should always offer less than the inferior club. Just as we did.

That way, if they join the inferior club we've avoided signing someone who is more interested in the cash than the honours. And that has to be good.

And if he joins us anyhow we have the sort of player we are looking for.

We were in a no lose situation the moment West Ham came in for him. No matter what happened from thereon in was a good result for LFC.
