not bad, so easy on the optimism trigger fellas
That chav team wouldnt scare me.
I think our first 11 know each other better on the pitch, they will miss having an influence like Essien or Makelelle in midfield and they will desperately miss John Terry.
Im expecting a good game from Gerrard and Alonso.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

My real concern is that diving **** Robben. Just know he's gonna score or set up a goal. Probably around the 38 minute mark after we've battered them all half.

Saying that i've predicted 2-1 to us, just praying that we finally beat the chav scumbags.

Still it's only a matter of time before they implode and someone assassinates Abramovich....i mean robbing billions off the russian people is gonna make you enemys. Really does turn my stomach.

Mind you, i'm not so sure our 'Dubai investors' have a particularly great human rights record.

                          annnnnnnnnnnnnd back on topic

                          Chelsea fans pov -

Rob Hobson from cfcnet.co.uk provides the view from Stamford Bridge as Liverpool prepare to welcome the champions.

Will you be confident coming to Anfield?

I've no idea why we have the upper hand in the league and you guys edge it in the cups. I hope it continues, though...doesn't look like we'll be coming up against you in the Champions League after you drew that plum Catalonian tie. But yes, even with all the turmoil at the club at the moment, I feel fairly happy about the way we're playing.

What's your form like, and do you have any injury worries?

Terry, as you probably know by now, won't be fit. Unless, that is, the Special One has been pulling an even faster one than is his usual wont. The rumour is that Petr Cech could possibly be fit, and with a fetching skull cap for Robbie Fowler to aim his hoof at. As for form...well...not quite as good as yours, and I assume you'll be able to defend slightly better than you did aganist the Gooners, but having Robben back has given us a huge boost. He absolutely tore Wigan to pieces.

What do you make of the current Liverpool side?

Every time I answer a question like this honestly, I get accused of arrogance. So I'll be diplomatic, and say that Alonso's a very good player and Carragher marshals your defence well. I'll take the Fifth on the rest of the team.

You can pinch three Liverpool players, who'd you take?

Alonso, and probably the captain. Although in my heart of hearts, I'm not convinced either of them would waltz into our first team (and I can almost hear the Scouse tops being blown as I type this). I just think the Spanish lad's range of passing is great, and he's one of those players who makes the game look very easy. I've always wanted to be a laconic-styled midfielder, though, so I'm probably biased. Oh, you said three didn't you? Can I have Alonso twice?

Would you swap your two titles for our Champions League?

                          You're having a laugh, aren't you?

                          Can you catch Man Utd?

Good question. We are able to do it, I think. That obviously doesn't mean we will. It's just been frustrating to have so many players missing, because I think we can say without a doubt that we've dropped at least six points since the captain got injured. You guys have a decent keeper, so you'll also know what I mean when I say that a top stopper is worth at least 10 points a season. We've been without the world's best for months, so that's been tough. Still, there's nearly half a season left. If Ronaldo or Scholes pick up a knock, I'd expect that lead to start to vanish. And we still have to play them at the Bridge, of course...our record against them at home is as good as anyone's.

Who are you backing, Mourinho or Abramovich?

Whatever you guys think about Mourinho, he's a winner, and this club needed to be told that winning was something we could start to expect and demand, rather than hope for. But Roman is our owner, he saved us from becoming the next Leeds, and he has to deserve our loyalty.

Liverpool or Man Utd - who rubs you up more?

You can only get irritated by someone who has beaten you. United's record against us in the last...well...decade, in fact, has been pretty poor. Whereas you're up in two cup ties to one. Thank God the one we beat you in was a final.

What's the score going to be?

How I'd love to say it'll be a repeat of the 4-1, with Sheva to bang in a hat-trick in front of the Kop. But you and I both know how cagey these ones tend to be. I'll vote with my heart, like all of you would, and say 2-1 Chelsea, with a long-range consolation from Riise.

Chelsea are the bogey club for manager Rafael Benitez as far as the Premiership is concerned. He has lost all five previous meetings - the only English club to have a 100% League record against him.

Mikel Jon Obi will start for Chelsea in place of the suspended Claude Makelele with Michael Essien still in defence and Wayne Bridge has a knee injury.
