    Buying players for the reserves

I was reading an artilce in one of the papers I was reading earlier - I think was from the Daily Post (Liverpool/northwales daily). It suggested that our newcastle brewery signing form Ajax may go straight into the reserves. Nothing wrong with that. However, I was reading a while ago that the reserves lack a good target striker. With that in mind and Ajax's view that he is not ready to step up to first team football, do you think it is possible that this guy will be brought in soley with the reserves in mind? That being said is would that be a good plan if this is what is in Rafa's mind? Finally what should I have for my tea tonight

Phew, I'm exhausted reading that, I had to read it three times.

Can't beat sausage, egg, chips & beans & thick sliced bread for tea though, what time you cooking?

Oh - the point you were making, what was it again? Yes, it's a good plan, we buy for the youth & reserves to see if they can be turned into first teamers later, much, much cheaper than buying first teamers these days!!

Rafa bought him, and all the other reserve players, in order to win the reserve championship trophy. That's a very prestigious trophy and one we haven't won for ages.

think the plan maybe just to emulate the first team. Recognise that some may not make it but at least the team can keep it's shape

i believe he wants the reserves to play the same as the first team so if he wants a player to step up to the first team they will be used to the style.. for example playing with geordie brewer will get people ready for playing with crouch. doesnt mean all the people he buys for the reserves will be with a view to playing for the first team
