Some of the posts on this thread are ludicrous, you'd think Sissoko was Diao mark II or something along those lines. Let's not forget Sissoko played a huge part last season, you know the season we got our highest prem points total, and he was the best thing since sliced bread then. And at the start of this season, he was one of the only players who actually kept us going, he must have picked up the supporters Man of the Match nearly every game.

I think it's a case of him being out for long that has clouded the memories of some. He'll play almost as many games as Alonso and Gerrard, when he returns, and we'll be better off for it.

As you might have guessed I never rated Momo as high as most others. I think that he has certain obvious qualities that would attract most fans attention. He fights like few others. An obvious choice for MOM if you only look at the workrate. Especially when we are losing. Seeing how 37 people here (last time I looked) thinks that we should make a permanent switch to a 3-5-2 during mid-season and abandon a 4-4-2 system that has brought us 27/30 points in the last 10 matches, to accommodate young Momo, I really wouldn't put too much stock in what (most) supporters think or more to the point don't think.

You just said that not putting much stock in what most of us think is based on fact, and that most of us dont think.

Rafa moved around the best midfield player in the world to accommodate "young Momo" ( trying not to sound condescending )
It takes a bit more then a young lad willing to fight for that to happen.

This player has more influence on a game in terms of breaking up play then most others in the world. His effect on our defensive play is nothing short of colossal.
There was I think last year a conference for managers somewhere in south america and all the best in the world where there. On of the main points discussed there was what is the turning point of a game and how do you turn a game in your favor. The main conclusion was that what makes the modern game turn in your favor is what position your team is in when you win the ball and where on the pitch you win the ball. Momo is crucial for us in that respect. And when that time comes when he improves his skill enough for him to play as a holding midfielder and/or be the one who plays the first pass after the ball has been won, he could go down in the history books as one of the all time greats in that position.
In order for that to happen he has to play.
I´m glad you are not the manager of LFC because you would never have bought him.

I don't think anyone is advocating changing the system just to accommodate Momo, but they are of a different opinion than you regarding what our best team is. I know we lost last time when we played 3-5-2 but this might be because the players are not that used to this system, we can't just try it once and if it doesn't work then never try it again. Sometimes players just need some time to adjust. If we do it now or next season to me doesn't matter as we might be in a position next year where we are fourth or fifth and don't want to try a new system because it would risk CL spot.
I also would like to remind you that when we weren't playing well in the beginning of the season, losing and drawing games, in most of those matches we played 4-4-2.
IMO Momo should get his chances to play because if he is playing as well as he did in the beginning of the season, he should be in the team.
Also I think there has been alot of focus on gerrard playing CM as the reason for our success lately. IMO our good results are most down to the fact that we have been playing worse teams than earlier in the season.
The games we lost in the beginning of the season was away against Man U, Arsenal (after Momos injury), Chelsea, Bolton and Everton. We were also very unlucky against both Everton and Bolton.
I also think it's important to let Momo play as he needs to play to develop, the guy is young and a fantastic player for his age. If we don't play a player like Momo he will leave and there will be plenty of clubs that would want to sign him.
BTW it's 25/30 point from our last ten games, we drew at Portsmouth...
