This game will be of a higher tempo though, cant see Gonzales getting the space he was afforded the last time he palyed them.
You could well be right Bazza but having watched Barca in recent weeks v Espanyol and Gimnastic they have not impressed overall but especially at the back. Hopefully Gonzo's pace can unsettle their full backs.

the man hasn't kicked a ball since the world cup it would be crazy to throw him into a game like that although he did include him in istanbul which surprised me. though i think aurellio will be lb and JAR lm for that game if every1 is fit!
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

that was impressive against barca, he beat 2-3 players at full speed and didnt slow or set himself for the shot at all just lashed it in stride about 30 yards out. valdes never saw it

I feel an early retirement for HK.

We have a good set of centre forwards to face them now.

Crouch and Kuyt will be give them a hard time in the air, Puyol will be chasing Bellamy's heels the whole time, and all three - particularly Kuyt and Bellamy - won't give their back 4 a second on the ball unharrassed.

I think this thread was about Kewell? I doubt he'll play.

Lets all give him a break.
The harry kewell of his early days at leeds was electric, for me the best left winger in europe.
However, that player is long gone and will never return, injuries have seen to that.
I can't agree that he was top class last season for us though. Overall I thought he was pretty average.

It's interesting how varied people's perceptions of Kewell's performances last season are.

I thought he had a good season - his best season for us. It wasn't the Kewell of old and he didn't score enough goals, but I thought he showed more heart and desire than he had in his previous years combined, allied with no little ability. Obviously, his performance against Chelsea in the semi-final and his goal against the Blue****e were the highlights.

Such a pity we never did and never will see the best of him. I don't get the vitriol some have for him - it's not like he asks to get injured all the time.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I don't blame harry for being injured, nor do I think he deserves much of the criticism that comes his way. For me, he simply isn't anywhere near the player he was at Leeds, because of injuries. I don't think the Kewell we've seen at LFC is good enough if we are to challenge for the title.

I'd agree with you on all of those points. I was genuinely exited when he signed for us - I remember the goal he scored for Leeds against Arsenal at Highbury just before he signed for us and I thought we were finally getting a player to grace King Kenny's No7 shirt.

But IMO he simply won't be good enough for us now.

Kewell is an Anfield legend. End of.

Only joking but i can't wait for him to be back if only for the extra options he gives us and he is a class player (though a bit lazy sometimes but show me an ausssie who isn't ).

Very sad situation this, but i have to remain hopeful that he has some magic left in him he has cost us so much without getting anything in return, not his fault mind.

Does anyone know how succesful this latest operation was? I mean is he going to be fully fit or will he only be able to play a certain amount of games.

His contracts up in the summer too isn't it, strange the way he comes out and talks about the Barca game and about not about fighting for a new contract with the club imo.

I think he's contracted to us until the summer of 2008.

Something about this comment just doesn't convince me, making out as if he's some cripple. It might well just be a precaution rather than a necessity.
