Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

I can see us going for Alves again in the summer, but there may be a few stumbling blocks for us then.
Firstly, the price. I suspect that Sevilla will ask for a lot more than what they wanted last summer as they've gone up another notch this season and are looking to win the league this year. Alves looks to be a key player for them and they'll want big money if he goes.
Secondly, they will no doubt have CL football next season, unless they have a dramatic collapse between now and the summer months. Will this make Alves want to stay around for that?! I suppose so. He's also signed a new deal, I think, so he'll be on good money there anyway so the lure of the cash might not be a reason to leave them anyway.
My gut feeling is that we've missed the boat with Alves, and by not paying what they wanted last summer our chance of signing him has gone. Sevilla are now main players in the Spanish league and are also looking to make a further mark in Europe ahead of some CL football next year.
