A risky tactic and one i highly doubt is the case.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

just one thing though.
If Gillette says he wants to build a new stadium exclusively for LFC and says this to Moores. whats to stop him backing out after he buys the shares and taking an alternative route?.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:

also does this Gillett bloke understand our history etc. It seems that DIC do and have made it very clear that it is also important to them. Also this Gillett is worth just over 500mil somoney wise i don't think we will be better off and he is nearly 70 odd so no offence but his best years are behind him!Originally posted by bazza76 View Postjust one thing though.

Like I've said before - it's lucky we're dealing with Giblet Junior then !! Seems that in the space of 3 days he has completed due diligence, made the only offer actually on the table, denied any possibility of ground-sharing, personally underwritten the new stadium and future transfers. Given DIC haven't actually made a formal offer yet it's no wonder the cat is back among trhe pigeons.Originally posted by The_Milkman View Postalso does this Gillett bloke understand our history etc. It seems that DIC do and have made it very clear that it is also important to them. However who knows what the decision will be. The decision will be this week apparently.

I do worry about Gillett though
Hes worth circa US$ 1 billion if you believe whats on the net (thats about £500 million)
He'd clearly have to go into debt to buy the club and I fear a Glazer type scenario where once he controls the club he heaps that debt onto usBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Looking at it positively though - we will have an answer this week - and why not have two good offers? I'm trusting Moores to make the best decision. It would have to be something extraordinary to give DIC the elbow. Unless there are things about their financing of the Stadium etc which are maybe not as positive as we thought.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI do worry about Gillett though

I think LFC are just being sensible.

I dont think he'll have a choiceOriginally posted by Armchairkopite View PostYes Lec but surely Moores wont let this happen to us.
I'm not sure how a contract of sale would be structured and what conditions you could place on Gillett or DIC for that matterBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Now on Sky SportsThe path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers and you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
