But Moores owns 51%, no ?

Surely he has 'control' over what happens.

That's what that magical extra 1%, is for.

The Echo says he isnt in favour of groundshare. It was reported tat groundshare was the only reason he failed with his last bid. Now he has ****ed that off and he is back in.

LOOK! DIC had no choice but to pull out the moment the board started considering other offers and faffing about. judging by everybody's reaction it's had the desired affect and the board would seem really GREEDY and STUPID to go with another's offer. Their statement said that Moores agreed to DIC's bid, so by pulling out all the pressure is now on the board and the members who rejected the bid. Messy I know but i think it's given Moore's the amo to fight the board with. I'm pretty confident after reading DIC's statement that they would come back to the table if Moores could guarantee that the board would approve. Everyone CHILL!

Me too, thinking on could just be shock tactics to shame Morgan and Granny for holding out for a better price

But what difference is Bascombe writing an article in a little local paper going to make, absolutely diddly squat. He can slag them off all he want's but it wont mean anything.

reading the DIC statement is depressing. I too don't want the yanks. DIC CEO at least knows about us and our history and comes to games regularly.

There are other shareholders as well as the Board though.

I sorta felt this would happen, Arabs being very proud men and not wanting to bollock about. Aw well, that's Liverpool...

I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I reckon Gillet set up something with Morgan and Granada. All very underhand but enabled by DIC being so slow about the due diligence.
Gillett will be stuck anyway cos they cannot convince Moores, the majority shareholder, to take Gilletts offer.

What DIC wanted to do was by Morres + another 18.1% of the shares. This will give them 70% majority. With this, they can make a compulsory purchase order on the remainder.

Judging by the tone of teh statement I think DIC will be back in.

Middle Eastern people are very emotional and I think they were personally offended that we even entertained a further offer from Gillette, especially after singing DIC's praises etc etc..

When the dust settles I hope they will cool down and revise their bid - i.e. pay a bit more to get the club they want.
