I'm no expert, but even I know a basic audit of a company takes longer than that.

    I don't trust Gillett.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Havent followed the news today - stuck at work

        Can people just clarify

        1) DIC pulled out because we were flirting with Gillett. Mir Bose wrote some rubbish about Maktoum being angry about this.

        2) DIC have already completed due dillegence, have an improved offer and have no plans to share stadium

        3) Hence the club released a short, (?arrogant - we are LFC) statement that they`ll release news soon

        Is that we stand now
        We need better attacking players!

Parry said that DIC's bid would take us to the next level

So what if this Gillette bid is as good as DIC as in being able to take us to the next step.

Look at West Ham. 80m injection and they have strengthened significantly.

So far I only see a few things people have against Gillette.

They dont see him as rich as Sheik Mo.
            He's american
He's supposed to have suggested a groundshare...which since has been poo pooed.

He'll take over now, thats for me is a certainty..well as close as it can get. I think we should wait and see what comes out of the next few days.

The bid must be better for LFC or simply they wouldnt have taken interest in the bid.

            In my opinion.
But if you think about it in greater detail you'll realize that the board HAD to listen to what Gillett offered, purely from a business perspective. Now, why has DIC pulled out of the deal so quickly ?

We'll have to chill out and hopefully all of this will be concluded in the next few days.

I think company law means that the chairman and the chief executive have to act in the best interest of the shareholdres and not allowing a serious bidder to see the books could have been grounds for complaint by the other shareholders and could possibly have invalidated the deal.

I seriously doubt anything is a 'certainty' right now.

Anything can and usually does happen with Liverpool football club.

I seriously dont think Moores is out for more money. I think there s a valid reason for Gillette to be in there with a shout now.

To be fair to the chap, he's been very quiet in the media without doing the USA thing and spouting out

I think we need Moores and Parry to come out and say something to reassure the fans. They seemed to have been heralding this deal from the beginning yet for some reason seems one or possibly both parties cooled on the deal. They need to come out and say the deal wasn't right and why it wasn't, after all why go drooling about it for months and then when the offer is finally on the table they dither? Either it is right or it isn't. If it isn't tell us why it isn't. A statement from Cotton to the effect that LFC note Dubai's statement adds nothing.

It's obvious the club (board and shareholders) had reservations about DIC. Perhaps the leaked document about their bid being financed by debt had something to do with it. Either way, I sincerely hope it is for more substantial reasons than the fact that Gillette has bid more. Apart from corporate shareholders (ie Granada), the other shareholders should be fans and thus be motivated more by the best interests of the club rather than capital gain and financial reward from selling up. I will be gutted if we have turned our back on a great future because of a few greedy shareholders.

As for Gillette, I'm worried by the fact it is so easy for a guy to come in and just gazump the party we were looking to do business with. He's come in with an increased bid, so obviously he wants the club badly, probably more than DIC do, but I remain to be convinced this is the right guy for the club. I just hope we're not pushed into a decision one way or the other because this guy is now the only one at the table.

Sure Gillett is serious about this, but is it the best deal for us ? We'll see and it's no point discussing about things we're speculating on really.

Remember DIC have completed an exhaustive review and saw nothing to prevent an offer. That'll be heartening to Gillett, he knows he's not at risk.

Don't forget they have done loads of acquistions in the past so he'll know the things to focus.
