With respect, that's a load of tosh. These are supposedly hard nosed business people, of course they should expect the Liverpool board to examine other serious offers. If they cannot compete, spit their dummies, and ask for their ball back, before stomping off home at the first hurdle, then good riddance.Originally posted by looprevil View Post****in dithering knobheads Moores and Parry should be slaughtered for this - talk about leading them on... If I was DIC I would buy another club and show the ****ers what they missed out on - these people respect LOYALTY and once that trust is gone it os over.. No way back now - Gillette better be razor sharp now.
Having said that, we don't know what went on, DIC statement implies that Liverpool were trying to start a bidding war. Also, I'm not happy about this Gillet bloke, he sounds like it's all about the investment potential for him. His track records seems to be buying into sports franchises, and selling them on (at a profit), and I worry what that means to the long term future of the club.
Hands up anyone who sang, "sold to the USA" at the scum!!!

Surely Daivd Moores owns 51% of the shares and so it doesn't really matter what the other shareholders say. If he wants to sell his shares to whomever then it's up to him and whoever buys them becomes the new owner.Originally posted by El Diego View PostIt's the ****ing shareholders not Parry or Moores they are ******sYou can agree with me, or you can be wrong.

Dubai International Capital has pulled out of proposed takeover of Liverpool.Originally posted by Arsonfire View PostFFS calm down......
What a fecking bunch of kneejerkers.
Est1892 lemmings in mass suicide leap
The announcement follows the failure of the club's board to formally accept DIC's bid in the wake of a second offer from American George Gillett.
DIC claimed the offer had been accepted in principle by majority shareholder David Moores but they were unable to make a formal offer to shareholders.
DIC chief executive Sameer Al Ansari said the group was disappointed but added: "We won't overpay for assets."
Merely wanted to use us to make money, as mooted several weeks ago about selling us again for profit :whatever:

Cause were Liverpool and can't do anything without dramaI think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not at all. It is the way DIC do business. If they allow boards of companies to **** them about... all other companies will do the same.Originally posted by The Barber View Postwe won't know till later if its a good thing or not it didn't work out with dic ... but what we do know is that this will 'probably' cause the club considerable embarrassment
Future companies will look at this as an example of how to deal with DIC in future... i.e. on their terms.
They see themselves as a privilege for companies, and they don't mess around and duly son't expect the same in return. Actually they're a bit shady truth be told....
Don't take life too seriously or you'll never get out alive.

Some wonder why a few of us are fed up. Well, there's your answer. I don't want ****ing Gillett or his sort. It’s bad enough us having to go down this road in the first place, but having swallowed our pride and accepted the need to move on, DIC were just about acceptable. Gillett and his ilk are NOT acceptable for our football club.
****ing wank. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

okay lets look at this another way:
We don't really need a huge influx of cash for transfers things seem to be going okay for us at the moment, we've improved year on year with Rafa and thats without DIC.
The whole debt issue seems to be blown out of all proportion so I don't think this is a real concern.
The main sticking point is the building of a new stadium, but in all honesty we aren't suddenly going to go **** just because we don't have a new stadium. There's other avenues to explore, and we'll see what the board make of this Gilette fella.Thomas Hicks Senior
