That is my conception too.Originally posted by Boogar View PostI have delt with Arabs before in my hotel days and this sounds about right. They stand by their word and expect others to do the same.
I guess the amateurs on the board tried to be business wisecracks getting an auction going and forgot about the local cultural values like loyalty and honour...not just empty phrases in Arab countires that...--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

How convenient for Mr Gillett.Originally posted by The Glove View PostThe Echo says he isnt in favour of groundshare. It was reported tat groundshare was the only reason he failed with his last bid. Now he has ****ed that off and he is back in.
**** him. "Changed mind" over the groundshare or not, the fact he even entertained the notion for a second turns my stomach. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Well if ever there was a time for Parry to earn his money. I think we're grasping at straws but when has it ever stopped anyone hanging off a cliff to grasp at straws? (and more importantly when has it ever worked?)Originally posted by Lucky View PostLOOK! DIC had no choice but to pull out the moment the board started considering other offers and faffing about. judging by everybody's reaction it's had the desired affect and the board would seem really GREEDY and STUPID to go with another's offer. Their statement said that Moores agreed to DIC's bid, so by pulling out all the pressure is now on the board and the members who rejected the bid. Messy I know but i think it's given Moore's the amo to fight the board with. I'm pretty confident after reading DIC's statement that they would come back to the table if Moores could guarantee that the board would approve. Everyone CHILL!

Off you go.... http://www.dubaiic.com/contactus.htmOriginally posted by saveferris View PostWell if there is such a strong feeling for DIC to stay in the hunt, then fans need to show it somewhere where it might make a difference. They could always bombard the DIC website and tell them, do the same to LFC. However I dont know if fan power would get anywhere.
But lets face it as much as we don't like to believe it, there have been instances where we as a club take too long. We almost lost Gerrard due to this approach and it seems we have lost the chance to have a good investor for the club.
This is what disappoints me. The consortium would have been good, I am severly hoping that this is a scare tactic by them. There is bad feeling for Gillet though, but isnt it only a perception increased by Glazer that we will go the Utd way. There has been no proof that Randy Lerner has done the same with Villa.
Saying that I am gutted
DIC have represented success....

Before DIC, werent we all creaming ourselves over Kraft? He was what, Kuwaiti?
DIC looked right to me, I agree - because the Board said so, and, generally, we accepted that Moores, Parry et al wanted the best for the club. The Echo report which predates the DIC announcement seemd to be talking up Gillette - no groundshare, underwrite the stadium etc. BUT we don't know for sure. Maybe Bose was right and they just wanted to invest then pull out? Gillette is an experienced Sports bsinessman.
As to what he is worth - it was DIC not the Maktoum's personally, remember - and Gillette is no Morgan or Moores in the money stakes (a Dollar billionaire has more than enough for a Football Club) and plenty of wealthy Americans go bankrupt at one time or another (there has been a huge kerfuffle on this in relation to Trump in the past few weeks) and make their dosh again.
SO - let's not slit our wrists just yet, eh?
(Although I'm not exactly jumping for joy, tbh)

Not a chance IMO. Once an Arab feels crossed they will never trust those concerned again.Originally posted by Lucky View PostLOOK! Let's hope so.Originally posted by looprevil View PostJudging by the tone of teh statement I think DIC will be back in.
Middle Eastern people are very emotional and I think they were personally offended that we even entertained a further offer from Gillette, especially after singing DIC's praises etc etc..
When the dust settles I hope they will cool down and revise their bid - i.e. pay a bit more to get the club they want.

But defeat in acquiring an object of their desire is something they will not accept - they will be back.Originally posted by Boogar View PostNot a chance IMO. Once an Arab feels crossed they will never trust those concerned again.
