I dont know them. I know our board though, who in the last 3 years have promised much and delivered little on the investment front - so you tell me who is more trustworthy.

I trust our board enough not to sell us out and to find a deal worthwhile for us and I have lost all trust in the manner the DIC have acted here as it has not been resonable in my eyes. If this is how they act in the face of s alittle competition and by giving stupid deadlines, screw them, I don't want them then.

Once people have calmed down and we know a bit more then we can have serious discussions, until then its a bit of a pointless exercise because even in a serious thread, someone will say something and someone will come in all guns blazing.

I agree, a 'sensible thread' would soon turn into the same kind of thing as the current long DIC thread. That won't change until people have cooled off a bit.

Only understandable insofar they must post something just to get it off their chest, they don't have to post in the "serious" thread, and if they do, why not nip that in the bud. move the posts to the rants threads, and still leave room to have a decent discussion.

That's my take on it also.

We didn't get a formal offer - unless a lower one was received on the morning they gave the deadline - we got an initial offer followed by weeks and weeks of due diligence, followed by a ridiculous deadline.

You can not have a serious thread on this right now. People want to rant. They will want to rant at what others write, moving posts out of one thread into another would lose all context. The only thing that can be policed right now is personal abuse. Wading through the posts is basically gonna be one of those things as so many people want to air their views.

Very true. I attempted to do it with the DIC thread when it started getting into a religious argument and gave up in the end. It was far too much effort. Better just deleting (stupid) posts as they appear.

Its the interweb mate. The new local. Its were people come to sound off. Then they calm down and you get a more reasoned debate when people know more. trying to impose some sort of order when tempers are high like now is only going to create more anger.

The time is not now. Thats the point. People feel that their rant will have some point to it, something to discuss no? Who is to decide what is a rant? Just because a post has a few swear words in doesnt mean its any less so long as the point is still there does it?
