      hi

What has been the attitude of the supporters of the NHL teams, with their current owners deciding to concentrate a great deal of rescource to a 'Soccer' team?

Oh yes, and this might be a controversial idea, to keep Parry on.

Well said - that sums up how I am thinking. It's so important that there is some continuity in the camp - some person or people who know the club and it's traditions and can educate the new guys in it's ethos and values. Hence I think a role for Parry, and Moores as Honorary Chair, would be good. I'd hate to see all ties slashed (other than Parry's monsters ) - we need that link to the past allied with a new fresh perspective on things.

Does anyone follow baseball at all? I read that Hicks had signed some superstar recently, Rodriguez something? Maybe we´re gonna sign Ronaldinho

            It was back in 2000.
            The deal was worth £125M.

Wow, how is the team doing? Putting the Bush connection aside I am more impressed by this Hicks fella than Gillett.

It worries me that neither one of these guys has ever said that they are a Liverpool fan (feel free to correct me, I could do with some assurance).

These guys have no interest in football, no interest in LFC, it is therefore a purely business/financial attraction and for this club, that just isn't right.

                I am very worried.

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Like has been said before, Moores is a fan and that hasn´t gotten us very far. They´ll become fans - this is Liverpool after all Maybe we need someone who can look at the situation objectively and push us forward.

Was Abramovich a fan when he bought Chelsea?

This Gillet bloke was at the charity shield game last year allegedy.

I'm so confused about the situation.

I'd beg to differ that Moores hasn't got us far, more cups than any other team in europe so far since 2000. He just does not have the financial clout required in this current climate to keep us with the chavs and manure. I'm not convinced that these two have the finances required either.

No, but Abramovic is a football fanatic and I'm not talking NFL here.

He was at the charity shield last year because of his interest in a takeover, not as a fan.

                          It is what it is.

Time to focus on the football now.

Yes but we have never been seriously promoted by the club when we won any of these competions. Prime example is the champions league, we should have had marketing at every corner of the earth promoting Europe's best "soccer" team, the lack of a decent marketing campaign is what we've had in the past years is where it all falls down IMO. The majority of United's money came from marketing, which in turn allows them to buy better players, which in turn wins competitions which leads to a bigger brand name being developed.

Yes, but Manures marketing hit a plateu in the 90's, it hasn't increased. They timed success and introduced branding to the premiership impecibly, and this gave them a head start. We were very slow picking up on this, granted. Most of Manures more recent success has been based on a fantastic group of young players coming through, not throwing money at transfers left right and centre, though this has changed in recent years, but only due to the emergence of the chavs IMO.

We didn't capitalise on our european successes because of the debts that this club has acquired and the fact that Moores hasn't the finances to dig us out.

If these two think they can make a brand name of LFC in the US then they're flogging a dead horse.

Fair point, but Moores should have never signed the new sponsorship deal with Carlsberg until after the CL final, that was a very big mistake
