    Cisse hints at Marseille stay.

Djibril Cisse has pledged to make his stay at Marseille a permanent arrangement if the French club can qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

The Liverpool striker is currently going about rebuilding his career at Stade Velodrome following a horrific injury sustained prior to the World Cup, and has scored twice in five games since his comeback.

His future prospects at Anfield look dim at present as Rafa Benitez currently boasts Dirk Kuyt, Peter Crouch, Craig Bellamy and Robbie Fowler in his ranks.

As such, the flamboyant forward is currently considering whether to return to his homeland on a permanent basis, and the ambition of potential future l'OM owner Jack Kachkar has certainly helped turn his head.

If the Canadian millionaire does take control at Stade Velodrome, and the club quality for Europe's premier competition, then Cisse admits he will be keen to rubber-stamp his exit from Liverpool.

"I will stay with Marseille if we qualify for the Champions League," said Cisse in But.

"Jack Kachkar will finance recruitment in the future, and I am convinced that we will have the potential to do well in the European Cup."

Marseille are currently just two points shy of second-placed Lille in Ligue 1.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

But he'll never win it again and probably be fighting in the UEFA Cup come January.

£14m worth of Marlon Harewood talent.

When they say "flamboyant forward", are they referring to his appearance? Cos he sure as **** ain't a flamboyant footballer. Unless of course hoofing it past the defender and then legging it is suddenly what people deem 'flamboyant'.

I suppose it makes sense if you think of flamboyant as a synonym of 'showy'. Purports to have style and even class, but has little substance.

            'Purports to' - exactly!

Anyway I wish him well. Hope we get a good wedge for him, naturally. Dare we hope for £6m plus?

I think we've every right to expect £6m or more. As much as I think he is the wrong player for us, he is still worth that much and more to others as he will always get goals. Good luck to him.

Be lucky to get £4 million i reckon. Should really get more but he's been exposed in the Prem, not suited to Spanish or Italian football and no-one else has the cash.

Marseille have agreed a fee of £8m if they want to sign him after this season. So we will get £8m or he will come back.

Marseille may not qualify for the CL and if you believe Cisse then he won't join them and Rafa would have to get rid of him to another club.

                    Good riddance IMO.
One of the most over-hyped and over-rated players we've ever had.
Wish him well for the future and hope his injuries have no long-term effect but dont want to see him in the red shirt again.

                      Laughable isn't it.

indeed, as much as I like Djibs he just didnt seem to fit in with us. I thought we'd agreed an 8mill fee for him (subject to a 1 yr loan)?
