The fact they released a tedious statement like that only highlights Rafa's point even more. Are they to thick to realise that?

Them releasing that means they obviously think they have to prove something, a proper big club would just laugh it off. Moyes and their players constantly spout the "peoples club" drivel yet does our Chief Exec make statements on our official site about it? Of course he ****ing doesnt, we just laugh it away. If they were a big club they'd do the same, the fact theyve got in such a hissy fit about it proves everything really.

As for Rafa's comment about small teams, he's bang on - why is it cheap? :whatever:
I don’t really see what the problem is with Rafa’s comment either, he’s said roughly the same about Bolton in the past and I can’t remember anybody complaining about that.

Can't believe they released a statement.

They are so small time it's unbelievable. If I was an Evertonian, apart from the fact that it would mean I'm an idiot, I'd be thoroughly embarrassed at Wyness's statement.

What does he expect teams to do...let us score? If he couldn't come up with the tactics to beat them then he should just shut up in my opinion. Having a cheap shot was stupid. Rafa should have learnt from the Portsmouth home game. He didn't. The tactics against Everton were wrong and the comment about Everton just hides the inadequecies of his tactics.

i do find it a bit of a concern that whenever we play a team who defend in numbers we resort to bypassing the midfield and knocking long aimless balls up to the front men.
Its not even as if we use it as a last resort - seems to be from the first whistle.
When we do get it down on the deck and play short passes with good movement we look superb at times IMO.
More of the same please Rafa.

Well said Red_AL, Rafa got it totally wrong yesterday, and that's the first time I'm criticizing him about his tactics. We bombarded the Everton defence with aimless long balls and crosses from poor positions. I also noticed that we played the same kind of game against Chelsea, but with the difference that we scored early and were able to control the game afterwards, therefore playing a more composed passing game.

It also helped that against Chelsea their 2 centre backs weren't very good in the air, it was the right game to play against Chelsea, but not yesterday.

I agree with you. We played in the same way in our away games when we won the CL and will probably play in the same way against Barca.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

What he said was bang on. Smaller teams DO come and put men behind the ball. Everton ARE a smaller team.

                            Why cant he say that?

We were poor yesterday no question. Everton defended well & we hardly threatened to break them down. we played far too many long balls and as per usual lacked width.

As for Rafa's comments, they were a little ill judged in my book. If we'd beaten them, then fair enough but when you haven't the comments look petty & like sour grapes.

He can say what he likes but he was making excuses for his lack of tactics as I said. Do I need to explain it again?
