So many times when say Agger or Carra have the ball the only outlet in midfield is Xabi, Stevie walks into no mans land back to ball.

Alonso had a bad game and you can see the frustration when he miss places a pass i'm sure it play's on his mind and effects the next 5 minutes of the game.
May of had a bad game but did show emotion
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

      calm down people.

xabi wasnt brilliant today, he was poor, but only by his own standards.

he was hardly spoilt for options when he had the ball.

i thought defensively he was good. i thought he was key to us retaining the ball when it broke for the box.

but when it came to him playing the final ball, we was left wanting. then again so were his team mates.

generally i thought we looked weak on the left side. the three up front meant that we were deprived the best of either of the three strikers. there wasnt enough space for bellamy to play at his best. crouch was fouled, yet wiley gave fouls against him time and time again. and kuyt was too deep to show his best.

everton defended very well and closed us down and blocked any shots well.

i think 3 up didnt work and i was surprised rafa didnt bring someone else on the left. on the right finnan and pennant linked well, but riise was pretty much isolated.

i thought riise was a bit of a baby today. diving. play acting. he looked scared of arteta.

how did arteta stay on the pitch? he was a disgrace!!! should have been booked after 10 mins!!

frustrated. but we cant expect every derby to be a classic. the last 2 at anfield have been great. shouldnt come as a surprise that this one fell short in the entertainment stakes.

oh well. i really expected 3 points.

but im happy to be reading and talking about football rather than takeovers.

Seeing that he’ll probably be involved with Spain in mid-week he’ll have to wait to get his ‘break’!!

                    welcome!!!

i can't agree on pennant. he got a lot of the ball but what he did with it didn't match up. also, how one footed is he. whenever he gets the chance to send in a left foot cross he never takes it.

Xabi has had a real hit and miss season IMO.
Flashes of brilliance but too many games where he hasnt been at the races.
Mascherano in and now Momo coming back to add a bit of competition for places in there will see him shape up IMO.

                        Aye, sorry about that rant.
Most probably inspired by the regularity of your negative posts, though.
                        You had it coming.

Pennant I thought played one of his best games for us today.
Having said that he did need to get beyond their defence to many of our corsses came in front of their back 8
Riise should've made may for Speedy at about 70mins and Robbie for Crouch.

I dunno mate if he was ****e the rest of them were diabolical because Pennant was our only outlet and he did look to get at people and linked well with Finnan, he put in loads of crosses some should 've been behind their defenders and some on the deck because they were happy to play head tennis all day.
