Pennant yesterday was like when we played Chelsea at their gaff. He saw a lot of the balland did **** all with it. In the end Everton probably let him have it because they knew Stubbs would be there to clear his ****ty crosses.

The left side was the problem yesterday, which is why Pennant saw so much of the ball. He should have started with Gonzalez for Crouch, we would then have had to start playing football instead of Carra and Agger launching the ball at Peter for 90 mins.
Oh and Riise needs to lose the ego and start playing with some ****in guts and brains, cos he is looking awful at the moment. His touch is awful, positioning awful and even his shooting at the mo is way off.

reina plated better. Kuyt did more with the ball. Agger was composed. Even then just coz all round him was crap doesnt excuse him. I am quite frankly shocked at anyone who said pennant played 'good' yeesterday.

Or it could be that he put enough crosses into decent areas and hoped that our 6'7" striker might dominate in the air.
Kuyt ran his arse off had as much of the ball as Pennant did and didn't produce nearly half as much as JP not slagging Kuyt off but be fair in your comparisons and not biased because the popular opinion is to dislike Pennant.

Agger gave the ball away more by hoofing it up the pitch.
Pennant had a good game maybe like I said if our strikers or in particular Crouch had had a decent game and made something of the crosses that were coming for him all the time your opinion would be different.
Pennant didn't give the ball away cheaply he was one of the few who carried it linked up well and tried to produce something. Again if our 6'7" striker can't attack a cross then it's not person crossing the ball who's to blame.
We all have been screaming for crosses to go in to Crouch, he had plenty yesterday and did **** all with them.
Pennant did exactly what was asked of him yesterday.

As Kaip has said Pennant floats crosses. He is nearly as bad as Zenden who spoons them. You need pace on crosses as well as accuracy. Pennant saw a helluva lot of the ball yesterday but there was little end product.

In the first Pennant was our only outlet BUT his crossing was ****ing awful,he keeps chipping the cross into the area...........if he`d hit it with pace our front 3 would have a better chance on getting on the end of em

Xabi is lacking a decent competitor for his place at the moment.

Sorry lads just watched the highlights on .tv Pennant did well yesterday a lot of his crosses lead to chances / half chances for us yesterday.
Yes sometimes he could whip them rather than float them but what he did put in gave Kuyt 2-3 chances Bellamy and Crouch a couple as well.
He also carried the ball well and his touch was excellent and at times he turned players with ease.
Watch it again I'm not his biggest fan but yesterday while watching the game I thought he played well having just watched 40 minutes of highlights I stand by my original statement.
I'm not saying he was exceptional or that he didn't over or under hit crosses but he produced enough had 1 or 2 of the chances gone in from his crosses we would be talking differently.

Kaip mate I disagree if he'd have whipped more crosses in our front 3 wouldn't have been anywhere near them Crouch can't attack a ball Kuyt was playing to deep to get on the end of anything closer to the goal and Bellamy was out wide most of the day.

pennant was as usual almost our only outlet. this makes him easy to stop, as all you have to do is double up on him, something everton did all the time.
did our right side produce more than our left? I thought so.

Agreed and he did well to link up and not lose the ball.
Riise's first touch was terrible yesteday.

Finnan & Pennant were not much better, and no chalk line on Pennants boots for a start, and his crossing is woeful at the moment.

Xabi & SG did not control the middle today like they can, was SG running around trying harder due to Xabi having an off day, and getting nowhere fast.

Crouch was a disaster up front today.

Thank god we have a decent defence & goalie, Agger is looking more & more assured, but Carra was guilty of hell of hoofing it up the park today - gotta wonder why they were bypassing the midfield so much.

What a piss poor week, after the DIC announcement we get this shower of **** served up.

                                Football - pah!
sadly I have to concur with you mate.
