But they also know there is alot of disappointment from fans that DIC won't be the new owners.
What better way to appease the fans than by saying how much cash Rafa will have to spend.

who would have thought that the Sunday papers produce speculative journalism? Anthing anyone knows at club level will be subject to whatever the yanks wanna do anyway. The club would certainly not leak this kind of info as transfer prices would double overnight if it has any substance.

I would go for Pedersen at Blackburn for left side also. Get rid of Kewell and Riise but keep Aurelio and Gonzalez as cover.

So $250M which is about £120M, is the money that Rafa may or may not get for purchasing players and covering the cost of their contract.

5 year contract @ 100000 a week is (5*52*100000) £26M

That is 3 £14M players on a BASIC wage of £100,000 a week.

Hicks will definately want to go after a big name player though....count on it. He signed Alex Rodriguez(best player at the time) to crazy money for the Rangers, and also signed Bill Guerin for the Stars for quite a large amount

I hope that Hicks doesn't choose the "big name player" though because there would be no point in him Targetting Kaka or Xavi etc... if the one Rafa wants is Villa. If a chairman becomes involved what players come to the club all it serves to do is upset the apple cart. You just look at Mourinho and Schevchenko to see that.

i dont think he would choose this player. At the Rangers he allowed his advisors and the team GM to name a target....he just did all the wooing, and ended up getting Rodriguez, when he was competing with the Yankees and Red Sox for him.

Im sure he would do the same here, he doesnt appear to be a "meddler" he lets the guys that know the game do that stuff, he just controls the spending and stuff like that.
