I'd agree, but I'd add one more factor. A factor that sickens me, frankly, cos I slated the c**t last season.

    Vidic.

He looked woeful last season and I even remember him having a very torrid time in their 0-0 draw against Burton Albion , but this season he's morphed into a monster of a centre half.

From laughing with relief that we missed out on him, I'm now grudgingly sick about it. He looks a great defender. Decisive and strong, he's also one hell of a threat from set pieces.

He's there at the back when needed, he's there at the front banging them in, and not only from set pieces, he's just fukkin there the kunt, he's the one giving all the other players time & space to do their thing, and making them look good at the same time.

I am one of 2 people at present who voted for Cheyrou. But in reality this is a stupid question, this is a Liverpool website so everyone is gonna vote Xabi. But in reality, Alonso is the far better player. Has far more to his game.

Also Carrick is the biggest pussy - caught a few mins of the match against Tottenham and Carrick kept pulling out of challenges the damn she-male. Even the commentator caught onto this.

Saha is a poor man's Kuyt.

Scholes is a poor man's Gerrard.

Ronaldo is a poor man's Pennant.

Let's take our blinkers off, Carrick and Alonso are very good and very similar. Only a biased old fool with a withered hand would fail to recognise that.

Xabi, in this under-par season alone, has scored more goals than Carrick has done since the day he left ****ing West Ham.

                        It's a non-issue IMO.

It's true though isn't it? Xabi isn't exactly a hard man himself but he never shirks a challenge.

Exactly, you look at his profile and his physical attributes and you wouldn't think a "Skinny-playmaker" would commit to so many 50:50 challenges like he does. And he wins most challenges too if not all. He's a very clean tackler: reminds me a bit of Markus Babbel (I know I'm goin a bit but Babbel was the finest slide-tacklers I've ever seen in my life).

Check it: Watched an interview of Alex Ferguson (think it was on Football Focus, can't remember) and it was about Carrick. He pretty much said that Carrick isn't very physical, doesn't score but instead of judging him on what he doesn't have, you should rather judge him on his strengths - and Sir Alexia stated his only strength was his passing! Not really acceptable for a holding midfielder.

Yeah I read something like that, was quite funny actually, he basically admitted that all Carrick can do is pass

                              This article say similar...

                              http://soccerlens.com/united-show-ot...n/0110706.html

"Michael Carrick has been constantly criticised since his arrival at Manchester United - he doesn’t tackle, he doesn’t show passion, he’s not aggressive enough, he’s not dynamic enough, he doesn’t get involved in the game…everyone has their opinion on it.

Thing is, Ferguson knew all this from watching him play for Tottenham. He knew that Carrick didn’t tackle, that his strength was in passing and positioning, not in the thundering bluster of Keane or the aggressive play of Scholes.

Pointing out the faults in his game is like calling Evra out for having poor shooting skills - that’s not his strength, that’s not why he was bought, so why criticise him for it?

Carrick is often blamed for being anonymous (and sometimes he really does go missing) but that’s mainly because United move very quickly from defence to attack and don’t build slowly from midfield - meaning that Carrick’s main task is either to take the ball out of the defence and pass it to the players in front of him or to join in the attack and provide passes to other attacking players. No one notices his one-touch, 5-yard passes. He’s the passing, non-tackling version of Makelele and somehow manages to piss people off who are constantly expecting him to do what he’s not been bought for."

The reason carrick is looking ok is because he is playing in a team that has a better balance than ours ie the wide players are not a weakness like ours are. Carrick cannot tackle, pass or shoot like Alonos. So that's why I went for Cheyrou!
