    DIC & Arsenal?

Arsenal in £450 million take over bid
    5th February 2007

    By Staff Writer

Liverpool's scorned potential new owners, the Dubai International Capital Group are set to turn their attentions to Arsenal in a £450 million takeover bid according to reports over the weekend.

The Sunday People claims the group, scorned by Liverpool who are now in negotiations with an American consortium are still keen to find a club in the English Premier League in which to invest and Arsenal are now their number one target.

The paper quotes a source close to the Arsenal board as saying:

"There has been a series of talks about the future of the club and how they need to plan carefully.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I'll be most interested to hear Arsene "I'm a stupid French hypocrite" Wenger's thoughts on this deal

ill let ya off, you can take the flack if they all come on saying its b0ll0cks I think this could be a goer as they may see Arsenal as a better prospect.

Their stadium is built therefore already in the stages of getting repaid by ticket sales and Emirates already sponsor their Jerseys and Stadium of course.

i think its a real possibility, and an ambition of theirs now to own a premiership club.
And being who they are, they will not settle for just any team IMHO. it will be a well respected side. not newcastle.

Wouldnt be surprised and its in London which is a factor. They want to get into the Prem rat race and as you say Bazza it will be at a top club and Arsenal are the only ones left up for grabs.

Chill mate. The future is bright, imo it never really mattered which of the two became our owners, at the end of the day we have the trump card in Rafa, that guy is the second coming, a genius, we dont need Dubai, think about it, we all got jizzed up simply due to the PR exercise, all Rafa needs is a few extra quid in the bank. In time the stadium revenues will be providing the extra £20mill a season anway so thats why I dont think it would have made much of a difference. Arsenal can have them..

                        Leave them to it...

I wish it was as easy as that mate.
I trust Rafa, I think he is the right man for the job, I just wonder what about life after Rafa, what will out two new owners be thinking of around that time, how old are they again? Personally cant see them being in control for more than 10 years myself. Nice little retirement bonus for themselves when they sell the club.
Where as Dubai, well atleast i felt, they offered long term commitment. I could be way off thiking that, but it's just what I felt.

That name does sound familiar alright, The "EMIRATES" stadium.
