Or maybe he'd just target players who ARENT primadonna types in the first place?

The big ego filled superstar doesnt strike me as his kind of player whatsoever, money or no money.

Hopefully the available money won`t create a monster.

Cant see Rafa letting that happen, TBH.

Two major low points, as far as I am concerned.

Didn't hear the bit about ticket prices, what did he say?

One thing i saw this morning was that Hicks owns a TV company in south America and will be looking to sell TV rights over their which could be a good money maker.
I feel this partnership could make us become a world beater in terms of global sports marketing, If that helps Rafa and the team we wont have to worry about chelski any more as we will be self sufficient and a well run business/football club.

that's the whole continent of the americas covered then - football has to explode at some stage in the us and hopefully these two guys will have us in pole position to benefit.

A good question - where did "Gillett already basically confirm.. ticket prices will go up" Jamo?

He said something like 'they'll be looked at', I think he may have suggested that there are discrepencies between Liverpool and other teams (I'm guessing because all our tickets are £32-34, while other teams charge £40-£50 for the big games - simple supply and demand)

I doubt, and I hope, we don't go the way of the london teams, but I can see prices going up, perhaps for the biggest fixtures.

Why? It didn't explode after the World Cup in 1994. It didn't explode when Pelé, Beckenbauer, Cruyff and Best played there.
I can definitely see it gaining a higher profile, granted, but exploding is overstating it, IMO.
The USA already has FOUR team sports of huge cultural and social significance in their society.
In the main, Americans are weaned on high scoring sports and are untrustworthy of ball sports where you are not allowed to use your hands.
It's seen mainly as a sport for women, students and immigrants - a lot of work is needed to change its image...

Presumably there will be a Liverpool section in all the sports shops their teams own

(With sizes starting from XL to XXXXXXL)

There are teams a lot smaller than us who charge more as well.

Yep, that's why I said 'other teams'

Yes I was bothered by that comment about selling the name of our stadium. Although he said that we'd be selling the name of our stadium if that meant that we would get one worldclass player in our squad each year. If this is the case, they would consider this option.

Or did I get this all wrong?
