    Ticket Prices With New Owners

Sorry if its been covered elsewhere. But has there been anyone questioning Gillett and Hicks about what they plan to do to ticket prices. Similarly, what was their history in ice hockey when they took over.

    Are these guys price hikers?

There will undoubtedly be some sort of price hike but I wouldn't imagine that it would be huge. Perhaps they could go to £40 but I wouldn't have thought that they would be able to go much higher than that.

Henry Winter wrote a very good article about it in the Telegraph. I'm a firm believer in subsidized ticket prices for those living in Liverpool, and I don't.

Either increase ticket prices or sell the name of the stadium, but for ****s sake, dont do both Hicks.

What about people like me who live in surrounding areas though. Cheshire, North Wales etc...

You can't discriminate people because they live outside the city boundaries. People who live outside the city are already at more of an expense due to having to travel to the match.

That would be such a bad way to go when the new owners have already said that they will be trying to entice newer fans from further afield.

Infact the more I think of it the more I hate that idea.

Increase the minimum ticket price to £50 a game I say. Enforce a dress code of slacks, jacket and tie and eject troublemakers who make too much noise. It's the only way forward...

Mr Gillett did admit ticket prices are likely to go up, although he says new ticket pricing structures will be created to make matches accessible for all fans.

He said: “Costs will go up and, if costs go up, then we have to reflect that with things like the value of the tickets.”

this is what Gilett said in the Echo

If it was an option to stop say naming rights etc then I'd take it. I'm not in favour of say ticket prices going to London price levels (£45 etc) and the local community being priced out. Whilst Liverpool belongs to everyone it is still part of the local community and they should not be priced out because before planes trains and automobiles they were the ones that helped make the club great.

Exactly. It costs me £60 in petrol to get to a game and back. Add ticket price and food & drink, and you're talking over £100.

If my prices are going up, every other fecker's can too.

The scouse-OOT ratio is all wrong at the moment, in my opinion.

When we get the new stadium, I think a large chunk of tickets, maybe specifically for the new Kop (if there is one!), should be available from the ticket office every game.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment of inviting local people in the club can't have a policy like that. It's just like saying if you're not local you can pay more. That would be wrong.

What about exiled scousers who are living down south who have been going for years? A strategy like that has so many pitfalls and would only serve in driving people away.

Locals make the club great but out of towners help it tick over. I can gurantee that if oot's never attended matches then we wouldn't sell Anfield out for quite a few matches each season.

The Club should be looking to invite fans from all areas and walks of life in, especially with the new stadium on the way, without oot's there would be no need for the new stadium.

Which way? Are there too many scousers or too many OOT-ers?!

Absolutely. I hope they reduce the ticket prices or keep them low and sell naming rights.

I'm an OOT and i strongly believe the locals should not be priced out... its a working class club.

Despite the fact it's usually ~ £200+ a game for me anyway inc. drinks. Making the tickets £20 more wont effect me at all.

So it would possibly be OK for OOTers. OK, but wrong.
