I read today that Sir John Moores never wanted us to become bigger than Everton when he was Everton chairman and regularly pumped most his cash into them in the 60's.He appointed a bloke called Eric sawyer to the Liverpool board who proceeded to back Shanks with the money required to make us great and when Shanks duly delivered Sir John told Peter Robinson that appointing that lad to the board was the worst decision he ever made.He wished he had have put him on Evertons board. He wanted us to do well of course, just not better than them.Dave Moores has been a good chairman but none of us will know whether he made the right choice on tuesday for a good few years yet so,IMO,there's far more deserving people than the Moores family to have stands named after them and Shanks and Paisley should get one each.

I agree but Shanks should defo have something bigger than a pair of gates named after him.He did the ground work that made us what we are today.

I remember Keegan saying the new stadium should be named after Shanks. Nice sentimental idea - but what do people reckon. Ignore the issue of selling naming rights - would you be happy calling it the Shankly stadium instead of Anfield?

I don't like the idea of naming the stadium after one man, albeit, the greatest man ever connected to the club.

Liverpool football club is so much bigger than one person.

Show me where to sign.It would be a fitting tribute.Even if the naming rights are sold his name should be in it somewhere or at the very least a Shankly stand

If he hadn't set us on the road to greatness we may just have been another run of the mill club.

The father of modern Liverpool. Changed the whole ethos of the club.

Yes, yes, I know. He's a legend who made the club what it is today..

But I still dont think naming the stadium after him is a good idea.
