They are bringing the current one over to the new stadium, apparently.

The YNWA forums suggested keeping 96 seats empty in the new stadium, as a mark of respect.

What? Permanently? It's a noble idea, but in this day and age of football being a business, it'd almost be commercial suicide to throw away the revenue of those empty seats x approximately 30 games per season. Seems sad to almost besmirch the memory of the 96 with such a cynical standpoint, but that's surely the way the hierachy would see it?

Hmm, not sure about that one, hasn't happened now so why have it in the new stadium. IMO the memorial is enough.

I know it takes place every year, on the Kop.

A KING KENNY statue won't go a miss outside the new stadium as well, its way over due. Leeds got Bremner, Scum got whoever the fook they got and we have Shanks but I'd like see our best player ever honoured when the new stadium is built

I agree but Shanks should defo have something bigger than a pair of gates named after him.He did the ground work that made us what we are today.

..... that would be a self fullfilling prophecy - Everton really would be playing a the bottom of his garden then .

Maybe the Stand on the Goodison end could have a mammoth set of curtains on the back, which we could draw in his honour .
