        My guess is that this must be a backup deal if we can't find anything better. If the deal is done then it really is a joke.

        We should be able to get £15m/year and not £7m. We are one of the biggest sports clubs in the World.
        Just believe and you never know what will happen.

        According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

          What about the Middle East market? Or how about the millions of Muslims in other countries around the world?

          Manure are doing it and Madrid are doing it!

            This Carlsberg deal is f***ing pathetic! Once again under valuing the club! Hope calmer heads prevail & they wise up to the fact alcohol sponsorship is as out dated & counter productive as tobacco sponsorship was in F1!!

              Our fan base is one of the biggest in world sport. Our games are televised in most countries accross the globe.

              Our sponsorship deals should mirror this.

                It does seem to typify LFC's small, cap in hand, commercial thinking to-date. But I will vomit copiously if I ever see Coca-Cola on an LFC shirt.

                  I don't give a **** about the middle east. I'd rather sell shirts in America. I don't want to see a group of men with rocket launchers standing over a fallen acapache helicopter wearing liverpool shirts grinning smugly.

                        We're on the verge of a new sponsorship deal which is worth double the previous amount - and some people are moaning!! We're not going to be relying on the money to fund our transfer kitty so it isn't that big a deal. My only problem is that, as shaggy said, it does limit our marketing potential, especially in certain muslim regions where alcohol is frowned upon. I'm all for a new sponsor, simply for the sake of change, but the money isn't really that important enough to bring people down.

                            As a Carlsberg drinker and staunch Liverpool fan nothing can make me happier then the marriage of my two favorite things together!!

                            Plus the deal (money wise) seems ok to me.
