Which European Cup winning side are annoyed after being bullied into the potential sale of one of their best midfielders even though that player is contracted until 2010?

It's really upsetting when clubs use their influence in the press to tap up a player and even though the bullying club in question have a history of this kind of thing the manager of said player is doing all he can to stand up to the bullies and should be applauded for it.

This thread is about owen hargreaves right?

      Are you serious?

I'd have him in our team in a nano-second. The boy is class. No doubting.

The thought of Ronaldo in a Liverpool shirt makes me sick to my stomach. Don't care how good he is. Winking, diving, scum.

As some of you have already said there's no chance that we'll sign him. I wouldn't mind it if we tried to get 2 of his international team mates though. Simao and Quaresma would be excellent signings for us and probably not that expensive.

I've always thought that Quaresma had the potential to become a great player. I'm not convinced anymore somehow. Although I wanted to sign Simao when he was hotly linked with us, I think he may struggle with the physical nature of the Premiership.

Whenever I've seen Quaresma I've been impressed by him but I must admit that I've probably only seen him play a dozen times at the most. I've always thought that he looked very skilfull though.

Simao is another player who I rate and I've seen him play alot more than I have Quaresma. The physical side would perhaps be a concern but I think he could adapt. He's always done well against English sides in the CL. Perhaps he's not the sort of player that would relish playing on a cold Wednesday night away to Bolton in the middle of January but he would still add alot to the squad and would be a better option than some of the players that we currently have.

                Just my opinion ofcourse.

Ah the transfer silly season. Love it.

And a good opinion it is mate

There's a lot of British players who don't like the cold January midweek fixtures either.

That's very true. I don't think many people would like running around in shorts and T-Shirt in the middle of January.

Having met with Ronaldos agent at the Koptalk travellodge on Thursday - he confirmed that Liverpool had made an approach. At least the bloke I met in the bar told me - he definitely looked like his agent - greasy hair and a moustache.

I'll be back their tonight to see if I can get some more insider info.
