well i feel like reina wrote the book in where to stand at corners, he might look dodgy sometimes but he's the best in the league coming of the line, and he doesn't get bullied, he goes out with force and gets the job done and he doesn't complain about protection like most other goalies...

Reina is an excellent shot stopper, is very quick off his line and is a very good organiser of the back 4. However, he is still dodgy when coming off his line for crosses. He's better than he was but when you watch him compared to Cech, Lehman etc, he is still some way short of the best.

disagree there, lehman is not half the keeper reina is rushing out, lehman deploys dirty tactics and gets away with it, looses the ball frequently but somehow always manages to get a dodgy free kick, lehman has far more fumbles than reina whilst rushing out. chech how ever is a fantastic goalie and no showbout he does his job and does it gracefully. but i really feel that reina is no worse coming of the line, reina reeds the ball in the air like few others, and for me he's along with cech the best in the league...

i actuelly think cole is overrated he just not on par with the best defensively...

I can't believe anyone would think Cole is the best left back in the world.

Strangely the popular perception of Cole is that he is a great attacking full back but not so good defensively. While he was suspect defensively when he first emerged, he's improved beyond recognition in that area of his game, IMO - yet he's crap going forward. He doesn't score any goals, ever, and can't cross for toffee. He's good at overlapping and creating space, but his actual end product with the ball is rubbish.

He also rivals Riise in the 'embarrassingly one-footed' stakes. As we've seen a couple of times this season, his hideous one-footedness can be very dangerous and costly.

i recon thats cause he hasn't got a very tall back line, i'd reckon and i'd like to see the statistics but the rafa is probably the only one whos got them, about the percentage of crosses reina successfully clears, he looked dodgy at first and i was very concerned about him in the beginning but not any more, i trust him completely in every corner and every cross cause he almost always delivers when he has to, and quite often when he doesn't need to also, we'd be far weeker imo if we had lehman in our goal, especially in set peices and crosses...

Bridge is good and i would love if we signed him.

This season yes Cole has been very poor and Bridge has been better.

But Cole IMO is better all in all

you've obviously never been a goalie. there is quite a lot of tactical information keepers need to know.

• where to stand at corner kicks
• how to marshall a defence for free kicks from the center, wing, and corners
• when to advance outside the box if someone's bearing down on you, and how (do you come out in the middle and give them a 50/50 shot to each side or make one side the larger target thus increasing the probability they'll shoot there)
• which way to dive for penalty kicks and how to judge where the kicker is aiming

just a few examples of things i learnt from other keepers that would have taken me longer and many more mistakes to learn myself. i used to play in goal for my local schoolboy side and read a lot of stuff from legendary keepers like yashin and clemence. you'd be surprised, once you dig into it there's a lot of information on the subject.

You're right - I've never been a goalie.
