My friend is certain that Carson's LFC career is on its last legs.
What instructions would a goalkeeper ever require?

"See that ball over there? Well, you should try and stop it going into that big net hanging on those metal poles. You can use any part of your body."
    Oh I don't know.

My God! You're soooo right....why on earth does every team have a goalkeeping coach? :whatever:

I don`t see the sense on taking the chance on improving Arsenal by selling them any player,no matter how good they are.it could come back and bite us in the bum!

I suppose they help them improve their technique.

Rafa would not get involved that would he? There isn't much to learn in the way of tactics when you're a goalie.
          Oh I don't know.

He will learn very little playing for poor teams and I don't see that he is ready for either Arsenal or ourselves at present.
i have to diagree with that. i think carson would learn a lot playing for a poor team because of the amount of work he'd have to take on and the situations he'd find himself in. after a couple of years he'd be able to take that experience to the top level and count on it the rare times better teams make horrendous mistakes.

if a team is interested and LFC don't think he's up to it then let him go. doesn't matter if it's one of the top clubs in the league, business is business. i also think with the two new owners onboard that you might see a change in the LFC philosophy of letting players go on the cheap.

Sell for as much as we can get. Carson will not want to sit on the bench at Liverpool anyway. Get shot.

you've obviously never been a goalie. there is quite a lot of tactical information keepers need to know.
                • where to stand at corner kicks
                • how to marshall a defence for free kicks from the center, wing, and corners
                • when to advance outside the box if someone's bearing down on you, and how (do you come out in the middle and give them a 50/50 shot to each side or make one side the larger target thus increasing the probability they'll shoot there)
                • which way to dive for penalty kicks and how to judge where the kicker is aiming

just a few examples of things i learnt from other keepers that would have taken me longer and many more mistakes to learn myself. i used to play in goal for my local schoolboy side and read a lot of stuff from legendary keepers like yashin and clemence. you'd be surprised, once you dig into it there's a lot of information on the subject.

I don't see why we should sell Carson, it would be a bad move in my book.

Along with Ben Foster he is Englands best young keeper. Whilst he may be no.2 to Reina at LFC, that doesn't mean we should let him go. say he does leave who then becomes our no.2. Dudek is clearly not up to the job any longer. Padelli could be anything, lets face it. Imagine if Reina got crocked long term early next season, would you be happy with a young italian, i wouldn't.

also I don't see why Reina's position is untouchable. He was shocking earlier this season. like any other player he should have competition for his place. for me Carson is the ideal no.2. Play him in the Cups & if Reina either gets injured or losses form we have a young keeper with plenty of English league experience to step into his shoes.

Well Reina could do with reading the books you talk about. He could do with learning

well i feel like reina wrote the book in where to stand at corners, he might look dodgy sometimes but he's the best in the league coming of the line, and he doesn't get bullied, he goes out with force and gets the job done and he doesn't complain about protection like most other goalies...

Very true he's a real talent IMO

                              A. Cole for me is the best left back in the world IMO but im sure Wenger let Clae go with confidence he had a player that can be as good as Cole
