"I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. Today I will begin walking the road to hell. But you will choose your own path. So, soon you may be seeing heaven. Choose the sword, and you will join me. Choose the ball and you join your mother, in death. You don’t understand my words, but you must choose. So… come boy, choose life or death."

5mil down payment with a few clauses to bump that up a bit depending on appearances etc.
Oh and whack a buy-back clause in there as well.
In fairness Carson is kidding himself if he can see himself getting a regular game for us at any time in the future but its still nice to have him on the books and good to see him playing in the Premiership. He's never be short of things to do at Charlton.

Carson isn't in the same class as Pepe Reina, no matter how much he improves. He isn't good at sweeping up behind the back 4 and distributing play & launching counter attacks, characteristics which Pepe has in abundance.

ARSENAL have emerged as shock bidders for young England keeper Scott Carson. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has turned his attention to the Liverpool understudy after failing to agree a deal with his current first choice Jens Lehmann.
The German keeper, 37, is out of contract in the summer and wants a two-year extension.
Arsenal are only willing to offer a one-year deal which means they will be forced to identify a replacement.
Carson has impressed on loan at Charlton, even though the club have been rooted in the Premiership relegation zone this season.
Carson knows his opportunities at Anfield are limited with Jose Reina firmly established as the No.1 choice.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has already let it be known that he is prepared to listen to offers for the keeper in the summer.
CLICKY - The MirrorJust believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Why wouldn't you want a poor-to-average goalkeeper to be arsenal's number one? Surely if our opponents have weaker players it gives us an advantage. And £5m?!? I'd be happy to get back what we paid for him!Originally posted by Ron_Mexico View Postwell i dont want to sell to arsenal and i doubt carson will end up there. i ****ing hate arsenal

If we can get this Padelli character cheap and if makes a similar understudy this would be fantastic business IMO.Originally posted by carheex View PostWhy wouldn't you want a poor-to-average goalkeeper to be arsenal's number one? Why ? If Carson's as good as he claims to be, then he's entitled to feel he could be No.1 elsewhere. He isn't fit to lace Pepe's boots here anyway, so he'll have to bide his time (even then he wouldn't make it as Pepe is sill young and is bound to improve).Originally posted by DeeGame View PostI would not let Carson join Arsenal even if we do stand to make a tidy profit
