    if a team is interested and LFC don't think he's up to it then let him go. doesn't matter if it's one of the top clubs in the league, business is business. i also think with the two new owners onboard that you might see a change in the LFC philosophy of letting players go on the cheap.
    For me though there is little to be learned behind a set of wayward defenders. You don't have to make the same decisions and it is easy to look good saving a lot of shots and never get the concentration necissary for a top keeper.

    I'm sure different trajectories are taken by different keepers but I really think in general that keepers who play in lower teams often become convinced they don't need to improve as much as people always big them up for the number of saves they make. I would say that any 1st team experience is clearly an advantage either way.
