What makes you think that getting him would be "settling for second best"?
Rafa will buy whomever fits into the team the best. Rightly so, IMO.
And we end up with a similar player to Crouch,Kuyt and Bellamy, great players but not world class. It`s a pedantic arguement until we sign klose and he proves one of us wrong

If you remember correctly? Do you make a habit of remember footballers' birthdays?

BTW,i think Klose would do a decent job at `pool but there must be better out there.

Alves and Simao dont fit into the big player bracket for me. Figo does but he was going for free wasnt he so that'd be worth the gamble.

Alves is probably the most complete right sided player in the World. If he isn't a big name player then nobody is.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Name one better right sided player then? One who can play as good in defense as in attack.

I dont doubt his ability but is he classed as a 'big' player? No he isnt. Defenders generally arent known as 'big' players.

He is as good as him and he can play in more positions and that makes him a more complete player.

I don't think you can find another one.

hmmm maybe not....but personally i don't think we need a complete right sided player, i would prefer we signed a right winger who has plenty of flair and tricks and offered us that cutting edge and can make things happen when you play smaller teams (everton) and they just sit back and defend.
