I think he could chip in with 5-10 goals a season as a fourth choice striker.

Given the monetary restrictions we've had I don't think he could have done much better TBH.Originally posted by tomasjj View PostTo act a little devils advocate here, Rafa's track record for signing strikers isn't the best...or is it?
To my mind the more you pay the more likely you are to get a better quality player. So I think Rafa will do OK.The Crushing Machine MKII

surprised to say the least.
i watched a few of the Ukraine games during the WC, and he didnt look that bad TBH. Quite pacy from what i remember, with a cracking shot on him.
not good enough to be first choice, but as a 4th striker he will do a good job IMO.
you tube clip time. He's the one with the pony tail.

If true, and if 4th choice as many say, who can blame him?Originally posted by Harveybirdman View Postsurprised to say the least.

Hands up all those at 28 who would jump at this opportunity, with not much future ahead in current employment, when a great club is offering a good contract to sit on your arse for that contract, turn up for training knowing not much chance of being picked on Saturdays, hoping to get a good run when required to.
No brainer really isn't it?

Fowler is going, that much is obvious, so Voronin is an inexpensive replacement. Rafa's summer budget won't be unlimited so don't people think it's better for Rafa to use his cash on a WC first choice striker and a freebie 4th choice? Why waste money on someone who might only play 7 games a year. We need other players in other positions so we can't be blowing budgets on backup players.

I agree with you Al. Voronin will replace Robbie.
Kuyt is probably the only one of our current strikers that is sure to be playing for us next season.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

He can also play right wing, left wing and behind a main striker
We`ve already potentially have a few strikers leaving this summer - Cisse, Le Tallec and Sinama with Fowler
I see him as a back up striker + RW
Depends how this season ends, but I think Bellamy or Crouch may go in the summer - funds dependant
However I dont see the point of buying this guy - why not play a young player eg Hammil
My worry is that our squad (1st team and youth/reserves) is more quanitity than quality
I think Rafa has still shipped out more than have come in overall, so I guess this is squad fillerWe need better attacking players!
Torres aint enough

He finishes really well in this clip and has good movement too:
Hang on having watched the replay, the keeper's to balme, but it was on target I suppose
They've won the league, bigger stars than Dallas, they've got more silver than Buckhingham Palace, no one knows quite what to expect, when the Red Machine's in full effect!
