KT is reporting that we have made a £10m cash bid. He is in England this weekend to play against the mighty Reading. Perhaps this could all be concluded then.

ITs not koptalk claiming an exclusive.
What they are saying is, other reports are saying we have bid £10m. ie todays papers.
But i still have a feeling we will conclude a deal for him soon.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Kuyt is strong in the air yes but he is also quality with the ball. While not Henry-ish witht he ball he is an extremelly intelligent player. I'd be delighted to sign him.Originally posted by univofchicagoThe thing about Kuyt, in my opinion, is that he is more of a target man (like Crouchy) than a pacey and skillful striker people have been screaming out for.
If anything, Kuyt will provide back-up / alternative to our own Peter Crouch. What I find baffling is that people who have been arguing that Crouch stifles our attacking play and stops the team from playing football on the ground thinks Kuyt will help us kick our attacking play a notch or two - presumably by contributing to a more quick, fluid and counter-attacking play. From what I have seen, I just can't see how Kuyt may contribute in that regard....

Well after watching last nights game I saw 2 problemsOriginally posted by univofchicagoThe thing about Kuyt, in my opinion, is that he is more of a target man (like Crouchy) than a pacey and skillful striker people have been screaming out for.

Firstly Bellamy cant play on his own upfront, you need someone who can hold up a ball and allow the midfielders / wide men to join in the play
Secondly when we did get the ball wide some excellent crosses were put in but nobody was on the end of them
So what we should be looking for is somebody capable of holding the ball up but also able to get on the end of crosses
Personally Kuyt ticks both those boxesBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I agree with your analysis Lec, I haven't seen enough of Kuyt to know whether he would be the solution, but solve these problems and I think we will be stronger this season.Originally posted by LecterWell after watching last nights game I saw 2 problems

That's exactly what I noticed too. Did you notice how that team attacked. Each time they got down the wing, there where at least 3/4 players waiting in the box whereas when we attacked we'd be lucky to see one!!Originally posted by Lecter

I don't know what your problem is but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce
