Trezeguet, Bojinov, Iaquinta and Amauri?

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has revealed he is plotting raids for a number of players in Italy.

Benitez is busy planning for next season and has already identified several targets to bolster his squad.

The Spaniard is set to be handed a substantial transfer kitty in the summer following the arrival of new American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett and it appears Benitez has made striking reinforcements his top priority.

Juventus ace David Trezeguet has been strongly linked with Liverpool in the past and Benitez has confirmed his interest in the Frenchman along with three other strikers in Serie A.

Trezeguet's Juventus team-mate Valeri Bojinov, Udinese's Vincenzo Iaquinta and Palermo's Amauri have all come under Benitez's gaze as he looks to build a side capable of challenging for the title next season.

"We are following many players with several of those in Italy and Trezeguet is one of them, it's true, but I like also Iaquinta, Amauri, Bojinov," Benitez told Corriere dello Sport.

I do not think he is necessarily naming his targets, he is saying Trezeguet is a player he likes and an option in Italy but there are many other good strikers in Italy as well such as Amauri, Iaquinta and Bojinov. Similar to him talking about Crouch but saying "i also like rooney,ashton,bent"

exactly doesnt usually do that! bojinov is class on fifa 07 aswel! hav'nt seen trezeguet play in a long time how is he playing these days? i think he is a bit lazy!

Never heard of him to be honest, but he took those goals very well and looks a good finisher.

A top notch striker is what we're crying out for, and if we get one in the summer then I'd be confident of pushing the top two all the way the next time around. I'm sure we'll be linked to every top player from now on but let's hope that Rafa can bring in th equality that will improve us further and push us up to the level of the top two as soon as possible.
