I'm going from the reports, which we all are aren't we?Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostFace it mate. You are just scaremongering. You have no idea about the contents of the contract or any gentlemans agreements in place.
So basically you're just making this all up.
They state an 18 month contract don't they?
In 18 months time he'll be over 24, therefore he can leave on a Bosman can't he?Originally posted by Gordon Brown

I was alluding to my prior post about you personalizing it. You claimed you don't personalize things yet you said that those things about El Jefe. Javier Mascherano
Liverpool have completed the signing of Javier Mascherano after buying him out his contract with private businessman Kia Joorabchian - but West Ham are still facing the threat of a points deduction for what was described on Tuesday night as the "outrageous behaviour" that led to the Argentina midfielder appearing for them earlier this season.
After a month of careful deliberation between lawyers representing Liverpool, the Premier League and Joorabchian, Mascherano has moved to Anfield in a permanent 18-month deal that is rumoured to have cost in the region of £10million and made Joorabchian a very wealthy man.
Liverpool initially wanted to sign a player who excelled at the World Cup but flopped at West Ham on loan. But when they realised any such agreement would be in breach of Premier League rules - and in particular rule U18 which forbids a third party having influence over a player - manager Rafa Benitez had to turn to the club's new American owners and urge them to invest in Mascherano.
A Premier League statement said: "The Premier League is satisfied that the contractual arrangements proposed by Liverpool FC are consistent with its rules; particularly that the relationship between club and player is not subject to third-party influence.
"The Premier League is grateful for Liverpool's cooperation and openness at the start and throughout the process. Liverpool also appreciated the Premier League Board were not prepared to sanction this transfer until further information on any third-party involvement in player registrations had been received from all Premier League clubs."
While Liverpool can now include Mascherano in their plans without any fear of reprisals, West Ham will not have to wait long to discover their fate.
One senior football official has told Sportsmail that they are still "in big trouble" after failing to gain clarification from the Premier League before selecting Mascherano and Carlos Tevez, who remains the property of Joorabchian, in their side.
"It's pretty hard to see how it could be a more serious breach of rule U18," said the source. "It would seem they have used a player they should not have been able to register."
West Ham are expected to point to the fact that the club's previous administration - in particular former chief executive Paul Aldridge - were responsible for recruiting the two Argentina internationals and they will also try to suggest that the Premier League did not fully understand their own rules.
But an independent commission appointed to examine the issue may dismiss those arguments, especially if there are any documents in existence that reveal that the club's new Icelandic owners did not question the arrangement with Joorabchian when they took over.
For Mascherano, meanwhile, it is now all about impressing Benitez. If Liverpool decide not to extend his deal beyond the initial 18 months, Joorabchian could be given the option of buying him back.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

Sorry dude I think you have got this all wrong. Not sure what the exact ins and outs are but Joorabchian owned his contract and tried to buy the Hammers. Hammers dealt with Magnusson that's when Mascherano stopped playing for the hammers, there was some mention about about Hammers having to pay a fee for Mascherano if he played so many games for them. Curbishly didn't even give him a game.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostNot sure what you mean by personalize it. I said I'm not convinced South Americans can settle in the premiership. That's not personal.
But there are reasons why I don't like his attitude in particular and they stem from the fact that he ****ed West Ham fans around so badly. He basically used that club and showed no commitment to their fans. Shoddy behaviour from a professional in my opinion.
Hammers fans had no problem Mascherano.Did you see the size off those chickens?

No, he can negotiate with any other club in 12 months time under the terms of the Bosman ruling unless we negotiate an extension in the next 12 months.Originally posted by Kronenburg1892 View PostRight, so we buy him for 18 months at 10 million, and can sell him back to Joorabchian for what? 10 million?
It's got to be better than buying Heskey for 11 million to sell him for 6. LOLOriginally posted by Gordon Brown

Doesn't mention him being offered to anyone but Joorabchian. Does that mean there is wording in the contract? We don't know. The Crushing Machine MKII

It's irrelevant though, under the Bosman ruling (European Law) he is free to negotiate with any club in the last 6 months of his contract and we are not entitled to a transfer fee.Originally posted by SpeedyG View Post"If Liverpool decide not to extend his deal beyond the initial 18 months, Joorabchian could be given the option of buying him back."

Gentleman's agreement or not, under European law it's the length left on the contract which matters.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

do you honestly believe that rafa would take a chance like that, we probably made the 18 month loan deal permanent witch means he can sign a new contract any time now, witch he has probably verbaly agreed to and will sign in the near future, our club is not in the hands of idiots, and they would never do something like this. not in a million years.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostNo, he can negotiate with any other club in 12 months time under the terms of the Bosman ruling unless we negotiate an extension in the next 12 months."I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. If he wants to stay. He might want to develop his football elsewhere in 12 months time.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostWell only time will tell. It's all academic anyway. He will become a star and we will sign him up for the long haul
