Not at all, I've no problem with Argentinians at all despite what others will have you believe. I lived in Argentina for a short while

I have just never been convinced that South Americans can settle in the premiership and the signing of them is a huge gamble. Add to that the fact that it could unsettle the likes of Gerrard and Alonso and the fact that it is one of the positions we are quite strong in comparitively; the fact that he has failed at West Ham despite only a few games and he has whinged his way out of there 6 months after proclaiming what a great club it is and you have the reasons I'm not convinced.

Don't forget WHU needed to pay a fee if he played any more games. They didn't want to pay the fee!
Got any evidence of that last bit mate?

I think it was Shaggy who posted it a while back? What were you looking for? A copy of the contract?

Well something a bit more concrete than a quote from Shaggy

Let's hope & pray he adapts to the premiership, and we will then see that he will one of the first names on the team sheet, and the others will be the ones given games to give Masher a rest!

So no reason that has anything to do with how good he is at football.

He might be talented, I don't dispute that, but players with more talent than him have failed in the Premiership before and many other will too.
It's not just about how well he can kick a ball, there are many other factors in whether he'll succeed.

                  I was kidding

I think he'll do ok - I think Rafa won't let any player hold the club to ransom ala Gerrard so I think he wants to have loads of cover and good cover at that. Stevie is pretty unstable mentally imo - his recent comments about needing to be loved both made me feel like throwing up and jumpy at the same time. Do you hear Carra coming out with **** like that?

Anyway, what would be the point seems like you've already made up your mind. You've also managed to personalize it, without even knowing the bloke.

Without doubt Stevie G is a text book depressive. Hope he fares better than Diesler.

i doubt there have been many players with more ability than him that have failed in the premiership, only one i can think of and thats veron and despite failing he got a medal for winning the premiership...

Not sure what you mean by personalize it. I said I'm not convinced South Americans can settle in the premiership. That's not personal.
But there are reasons why I don't like his attitude in particular and they stem from the fact that he ****ed West Ham fans around so badly. He basically used that club and showed no commitment to their fans. Shoddy behaviour from a professional in my opinion.

I think Litmanen was more talented, but that's subjective. I haven't seen as much of Mascherano as I had of Litmanen. I know he's not South American but it demonstrated the point its not just about talent.
                            Crespo was pretty talented.

I didn't realize he'd done anything like that. I saw quite a few interviews he did, and he was very diplomatic and made a point of not slagging WHU.

What have I missed that got on your goat?

Osvaldo Ardilles and Ricardo Villa, just after the Argentine team secured the World Cup in 1978, didn't do too bad a job for Spurs.

Oh, and a small matter of the Falklands had just taken place, yet they excelled.
