He is fully fit, but that and Match fitness are two different things. Slow paced game though so would be OK.

You need to be playing competitive football to be match fit IMO

No Sami? I think we will go 3-5-2

No Sami, Crouch or Kuyt and Arbeloa on the right of midfield?
So basically 2 players making their CL debuts for us?
                Controversial.....

So pleased that this one's finally settled at last!

I can see him being included in tomorrow's squad now, but I'm not so sure if he'll play a part - probably depends how the game goes I suppose and if there's a need.

Will be interesting to see how Rafa plays this with the midfield formation from now on, and as to whether there's room for Xabi, Stevie, Masch and Momo in one matchday squad/team.

Time will tell, but it's great to have such a talent available to us at last! It may take him time to bed in but I've seen enough from this guy in the past year or so on the telly to suggest that he's quality all over, and a fantastic addition to our squad no matter what went on at West Ham.

                    Very controversial.

Three centre backs are a gimme for me. And as happy as I am the Mascherano has signed, I can't see him starting tomorrow.

He`s been doing that since he was 6 yr old.
i`m sure he`s mentally strong enough to go straight into which ever game rafa decides to put him in.

I think Messi would terrorise Sami, Leo looked back to his best in his cameo against Valencia. Sami lacks the pace these days.

I can see the 3-5-2 happening without a doubt. I think Rafa will be looking to smother the attacking threat with a 5 man midfield I thought maybe

                          Gerrard --- Masher --- Alonso --- Sissoko --- Riise

                          just a thought

So you're saying he was match fit when he was 6?

Anyone knows that if you aren't playing competitive football regularly you lose match fitness eg : Shaun Wright Phillips at Chavski.

Rafa would be an idiot to start him in one of the biggest games of the season IMO.

It's not about this or that, it's about who Rafa sees as being the 2 in front of the back line, and how Rafa likes to play things, 2 holding m'f was his preferred option previously, and again with us when Xabi & Momo are fit, it's now who he sees as the man for the job and whether masher is fit & ready & up for it?

Momo is Boss, and will play
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
