Hi just got on now, and saw the title changed, (Thaks Mods again )
but from what I can take from the feedback from Man U fans is pure denial, and they've learnt nothing.
I posted this thread half an hour after the end of the game - admittedly my first split second response when I saw the scenes on TV was 'Man U aggro' but quickly changed to 'oh no not another Hillsborough'.
Then Fergie talking about how Lille should be kicked out for what happened 'on' the pitch summed the man up perfectly.

Like King Kenny said about him once after a game 'You'll get more sense out of my 6 month old baby!'

So when I originally posted on here I had thoughts of all that **** they've been brewing up over the past 17 years how The Sun told 'The Truth', and how that now the chickens have so nearly come home to roost for them.
So yes, I was angry that a disaster was allowed to happen again but also the fact that 14-16 year old children who were on that list of 96 are not here to justify themselves for not being 'drunken scally thieves' and they very nearly caught themselves in the same predicament:
-reports of overcrowding due to many fans getting in without tickets
    -hostile police response
-honest supporters catching the worst of it

You would think after yesterday they would have a talk amongst themselves in a positive manner, but obviously not.
Anyway, the litmus test will be on 6th March, when we hopefully dent the title ambitions and retire Fergie on 'grounds of insanity'.
TOM HICKS is a Trojan Virus.

Christ, if that's the ingrained assumption of our OWN fans, that we didn't have tickets, what ****ing chance have we got with the Mancs or anybody else?

I'm sure you meant well, ElRobbie, and I think you're a scouser (not that it should make any difference) but me and 11 mates travelled together on a mini-bus to Hillsborough and ALL of us had tickets. Unfortunately, I was stretchered off and one of the other lads died. How you could possibly still believe 18 years on that the problem was caused by ticketless fans beggars belief...

The Mancs will never read the official report and see who was really at fault because it doesn't fit in with their lines of abuse.

Whilst there are people who go to Euro aways solely for the drinking, there are those who also go for other reaons in addition to the football. There are thousands in Barcelona who will spend time visting the many sights but further thousands just there to drink all day and not even appreciate what a lovely place they are in.

Don't lump everyone together because that is what the Mancs do.
The majority of fans who travel without tickets, and then buy tickets and have to get moved from an end for their safety, are people who drink, and would be happy drinking on the streets or in bars if they didn't get tickets.

You've totally missed the point of what I was saying anyway, I was just commenting on the quotes Shaggy printed that said the mancs said they weren't pissed up hooligans like the fans at Hillsborough, which of course is completely untrue, there would definitely be plenty of pissed up fans there, that's the nature of the beast I'm afraid, maybe your blind to it but it is.

Mancs, normal people? No way, they are definitely more primitive life-forms.

You got me wrong mate, I think your being a bit picky there and mis-interpreting what I said, I never suggested all our fans were ticketless and that was the cause of it, I was only really referring to the number who were ticketless in trying to make a comparison between the situations, I never really brought our fans into it, it was someone elses comments that did and it was manc comments that suggested that.

As it happens it sounds like a lot of the ManU fans were ticketless anyway.

I know its a touchy subject mate, but you don't have to read into everything in that negative way.

P.S. Your comment saying what chance do we have with the mancs? Why should we have to explain ourselves to the Mancs, surely that's not important and we should rise above that?

Even so, it's still true that ticketless fans didn't help the situation, and it would be niaive to suggest otherwise.

                No, I wasn't.

Are you saying there were no ticketless fans there?

Look mate, I don't want to get into a debate about Hillsborough, you've picked up on a comment I made in reply to another post and twisted it to make it look like I was blaming our fans about Hillsborough, like I've said once, you've got me wrong, why don't you just take my word for it, I'm not out for an argument, just leave it alone, if you want to talk to me about it personally then your more than welcome to PM me.

I'm sorry that you've picked my words up that way, but really, believe me when I say you've got me wrong.

Platini really ought to sort out these grounds. He should ban any club from European competition starting 2007/8 if they have those ridiculously dangerous fences. Last night was too close for comfort.
