    A Robbie Fowler thread

It's clear he's no longer the player we once knew and loved.

They may only have been penalties today, but they were two great pens and personally I'm delighted and chuffed to have witnessed him notch a brace in a league game at Anfield again. Sadly, I think it may be the last time.

It's a touch ironic that, in the season that will prove to be his last, his goals to games ratio must be the best it's been for ages. Today's double takes his tally for the season so far to seven - and after a quick tot-up from today's programme, I make it from just seven starts.

It's a bit premature to be saying goodbye, but I just wanted to say:

    Robbie Fowler
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

If he was that little bit quicker and fitter he would still be a brilliant squad player for us to have. He could've been so much more and that's saying something because he's been a genuinely great player for us. Glad he came back to us, he will get the chance to say a proper goodbye this time.

I thought he looked a bit better today than he has of late, both in terms of fitness and sharpness. Moreover, he didn't fall over every thirty seconds.

              I love him.

                  Since he rejoined the club.

                  17 starts 12 goals.

                  He's still a goalscoring machine.

Stick him in a genuinely offensive team, like Man Utd or Arsenal, and he would still score 20 goals a season.

                  He's a legend.

News of his demise is a touch premature IMO

Who have those goals been scored against

To be honest, wouldn't surprise me if his penalties were his first and second touches. It was great seeing him play, but if he wasn't a legend we'd have wanted to see him substituted.

Yeah cos how many games has he got under his belt to build any sort of match fitness. He looked able to run ok to me all things considered.Give him a run of games and if he still doesn't score regularly(which he already has despite the lack of games) then write him off.He never had pace anyway, just alot more intelligence than alot before him and after him.

Lets be honest, still the most natural goal scorer we have, regardless of who they are against. He can't decide who he scores against,he can only score in the games he's picked in,and to my mind he's done that quite well.

Put him near the goal on his left foot and he'll more than likely score. However a striker needs to contribute more than just waiting for a shot on goal. He is a legend but this will be his last season at the club.

I think thats a pretty decent assessment, would love him to get a champs league winners medal with us and then retire, would be a fitting end.
