Goal ratio shows that he still has much to offer!

He is as strong as an Ox, and his strike partner, Di Natale is the best finisher I have seen since Fowler. (I am talking about Pro Evo here guys!!)

Watched Palermo versus Atalanta the other night.
Palermo has some good players and play decent footy.

That striker Cariccolo or something looked ok from what I saw of the game.
Anyone seen him and got an opinion?

Cariccolo is labelled as the new Luca Toni if I'm not mistaken. Either way, he's quite highly rated in Italy.

Iaquinta is a good player and under different circumstances, I'd be reasonably happy for us to sign him, but as has been said, he's not an out and out goalscorer, which is what we need.

I will try him on Pro Evo tonight and report back

Joking aside he averages about 10-11 goals a season over the last 3 seasons. He is 27 now and IMO is not prolific enough to be considered, but hey what do I know?

Toni also came from Palermo, so I see why he gets the label. From what I could see he did look more dynamic and skillfil compared to Toni, also with more creativity.

As for Iaquinta I agree. Looks decent enough, but not being the poacher we need. But on the other hand, it does depend on who Rafa wants him to replace out of our current strikeforce.

Already 27? Hmm. I will check how many the other strikers at Palermo score a season.

Rafa stated in an interview some time ago (Corriero Dello Sport) and he said that he was keeping tabs on Iaquinta. So, it could be true.

It appears that Amauri and Di Michele scores most goals for Palermo.
There was some talk about us and Amauri last week.

                            hmmm...
                            An aside:
Iaquinta just broke his cheek bone and requires surgery; Amauri is out for a good long time as well, probably the whole season with a serious knee injury!
Does the press think we like crocked strikers? (yes i know iaquinta's ain't serious)

But I don't see why people like him.. Lippi and Donadoni both do, and Milan are for whatever reason also after him... but then Milan did buy Gilardino ffs!

He's hardworking, yes, decent in the air yes, but he spends half the time running to the corner flag a la Baros.

Caracciolo is a decent player, but for some reason not favoured for club OR country.

Weird that we are linked with so many italian based strikers...

How anyone can write off Iaquinta is beyond me. He's a current Italian International for gods sake. he came on in the world cup final. You don't play for Italy if you can't play the game.

I'm not saying is the answer to all our problems but any current Italian international will be a player who's available must be seriously considered.

He's a quality player IMO. Definitely good enough for us, but perhaps not the type of player we need.
