    Are you insane?

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Well, you're implying that Momo is a rare breed.

"The fact is there are not many players like him in the world."

"he will be the first player on our teamsheet for years to come and go down in history as one of our all time greats."

How anyone can draw those conclusions from his performances so far is beyond me. Its like looking at those famous chimpanzee paintings and claiming that in 5 years time PG Tips here will be applying delicate applications of oils upon his canvas to rival the works of canaletto.

Lets teach the lad to pass a ball first.

i love momo's engine. i love his tackles and his commitment

when ronaldo broke free in teh 1st half it was momo who stopped him with a beauty of a tackle.

he then got up and passed it 3 yards to a white shirt undoing all his good work.

from what i have seen of javier i think he is the more intelligent player who also reads the game better.

of teh two i woudl say that javier is more likely to hold down a regular place in the team in the long term.

Momo is a 'specific game' player. His tackling and disruptive abilities are excellent. However the modern player needs more. We cannot afford to give the ball away so much. People slate Garcia who loses the ball regularly, well Momo is no better when it comes to ball retention. Unless Momo improves his ball control and passing then he shouldn't be a regular in the side. IMO Mascherano would have done better in the Manure game. We are more fluid with such a player whereas Momo just destroys.

Let me just put it this way.

Rafa paid ca. 5m for him. He knew he could not pass the ball very well. He also knew the boy was improving.

Momo is picked for every single big game we play. And there is a reason. He disrupts the opponents play like few others can. That means we win the ball higher up the pitch and are there for in a better attacking position when we do.

Now does he need to improve his passing? Yes

                Will he? IMHO yes

Are you totally ignoring his obvious importance on the pitch. IMHO YES!!!!

                  Oh, thats alright then...

Actually every league is littered with this type of player, players that will chase everything down. Savage is a good example, you cannot deny his passion, but he can't play football for sh*t.

All I'm saying is that to say that Momo will be the first name on the sheet and will go down as one of our all time greats is an exaggeration to say the least. When Mascherano gets in, I think Momo will only get games when Javier needs a rest.

And for the last time, Rafa has said that Momo and Mascherano are not fighting for places.

Rafa does not use Momo as a holding midfielder and Mascherano is a holding midfielder.

Mascherano was bought to give Xabi competition. Now we just need someone to give Momo competition. Wonder why Rafa has not been down to the local park and found one.

and until he does that Mascherano should play.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Rafa said to Maschereno before he signed him how he would fit into our midfield together with Alonso and Gerrard, not Sissoko.

No, I appreciate where is talents lie, I agree with most of what you've said in this post, but, yesterday he disrupted our play as much as he did Manures, by giving the ball away constantly.

I have issues with you actually saying the guy is going to be an all time great and the first name on the team sheet when at the moment his distribution is woeful.

He had a good game against Barca, but I feel Javier will be playing more games than Momo next season.
