I can't believe it. The bile from that defeat to United is barely cold, after which the general consensus is that we need genuine world class additions to the team (NOT SQUAD PLAYERS) if we are to progress beyond being a side that dominates possession against top teams but can never seem to press it home in terms of crafting and scoring goals.

And the answer? Morten Gamst Pedersen, yet another half decent player at a mid-table side who Chelsea, Man Yoo or Arsenal wouldn't spend 5m, even to stick him in the reserves. We've enough of his type already, legions of them in fact, instead we need top bracket, instant team-improving ****ing superstars at this stage. We have the money, why faff about!!!

He's ok. Maybe quite decent even. But that's not enough, I'd rather give Gonzales more time and save the money; if we did buy him it'd be for some hugely inflated price and within weeks everyone would be on his back a la Pennant. Having signed Veronin, who can maybe fill in there, and with currently Garcia, Kewell, Gonzo, Aurelio, Riise and Zenden all 'capable' of playing there, there would be absolutely no point whatsoever in us signing any left sided player who isn't a class above. MGP is not that player.

IMO he would be a good buy as he offers a lot in terms of set peices and decent corners which at the moment we cannot do. he has the best left footed delivery in the prem and is easily the best free kick taker in the prem so i cant see whats bad about him. he is better than gonzalez and aurelio at attacking and would be a better option as he consistently scores 10 goals a season and has done for the past three unlike any of our other wingers.

man u and spurs have been linked with him in the past as a replacement for giggs so obviously fergie rates him. the only thing bad about hum is the price it would cost us to prise him away from blackburn which would probably be about 10-12 million. we need a new LW and he is an option to consider as he is better than what we have at the moment as kewell is constantly injured.

arsenal have been linked with a 6m move for ryan babel he should also be a possibility as he is v.young and a good left winger.

Pedersem is a quality player no doubt. Pace, ability and finishing are all integral parts of his game. Some people think that simply because he plays for blackburn at the moment he is not of sufficient quality. That is absolute rubbish. Anyone who watches his on a regular basis knows that he would be a terrific signing for the club.

Furthermore, he is premiership ready.

Spurs? FLMAO, they buy every semi-decent player in the league they can. That price is utterly ludicrous for a someone who, as has been pointed out, is a total MOTD player. I see him as Pennant with a free kick/shot, and he'll end up at Newcastle or Villa, and I really don't see this "terrific" player outside the highlight reel.....

Fair enough, opinions and such, but WHO is going to play on the left of midfield.
Don't say Ribery, if he was any good Wenger would have snapped him up. I would never sign a player from the french leagues that Wenger is not interested in:

Fantasy league player. Statistically he seems to chip in with more goals and assists than any left sided player we have - but then again we have someone different play in that position every game.

Fergie was after him before Gamst went to Blackburn to be fair... BUT he also didn´t buy him
