    Nugent anyone? considered responses please

So would you purchase and add him to the pool of strikers for next season?

I'mnot saying he is the multi million pound world beating striker we all desire. But, given that it looks like Voronin is not a Fowler replacement, and given that Robbie will more than likely be off, would you not be willing to take a punt?

I certainly would - we always used to pick up players from the lower divisions and turn them into seasoned pro's. I reckon we could do that with Nugent. To me, he is a good tricky little player who certainly knows where the goal is - maybe a good finisher in the box that we're always moaning we don't truly have (other than Robbie who most will probably think is now ready to move one).

I dont know what the fee would be, I'd imagine about £5-£7M. Given our new wealth I think as an addition to obvious world class players we need (eg Eto'o, Villa etc) I think he could be a very useful player for us.

Please don't knee jerk reply - not good enough, we need world class players not this muppet etc...I'd rather this thread turn into a decent debate than the slanging that quite a lot of threads have detiorated into recently.

I consider his open and undying love for Everton and David Moyes more than sufficient reason to discard him into the main sewer.

          Hmm... 5-7 mill for him?
Don't think that is how I would spend to fill up the ranks honestly.
Rather get a more talented and younger striker with a bigger possible upside(exuse the wording...).

There's a thread I started about him a few weeks ago over on Footie Discussion, it'll be on about page 3 now. If you want considered responses they will be there. Although most of them are about his undying love for Everton and hatred for us...

best striker in the championship aside from camara i think - so i dont think its the most stupid thing ive heard by a long shot. Watched him last night and get updates from my preston mad flatmate, hes a really really good little player. But he loves everton and think he would relish the opportuntity to go there and make us look daft for letting him go and also it just isnt the inspiring signing were after. Finally - bellamy is a better player.

He's all but donned his Partridge-esque leather thong and done a lap dance for David Moyes in order to get a move to Everton.

The first 3 threads ive read on here this arvo have entertained the possibility of us signing Pedersen, Trezeguet and David fcuking Nugent!!

FFS, can anybody honestly say thats the type of player we need?

I could understand it a bit more if we were potless.

Eto, Torres, Alves et al are the level of player we MUST be looking at to challenge next season.

Mate - re-read the 1st post. It stresses "pool of strikers" - hence why it also explains the fact that this would be a signing in addition to an out and out top notch striker like Eto'o!! Think of it in that context rather than as our main summer signing.

Anyway by all accounts he has set himself on a move to the blue****e - if i'd have know that I wouldnt have started the thread.
