How Alex has never played for Brazil I don't know. He is a top quality defender the thing Brazil lacks mostOriginally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostHe IS a Chelsea player - he just can't get a work permit to play in the Premiership due to having never played for Brazil. Absolutely no chance of getting him.

2 seasons ago we had key players out all over the place, we had to use kids in some of our games and yet we still won the champions league.

from wiki:
Alex has not been able to play for Chelsea due to his lack of caps for the Brazilian national team. A work permit for England states that he must play in 75% of his country's international games. Until this is resolved, Alex's stay at PSV seems likely. PSV Eindhoven are currently looking for an option to sign the defender from Chelsea.
he's had 7 caps so far. so i think he needs a few more before he can come to england.“At a football club, there’s a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don’t come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques”. Bill Shankly

Doesn't he also qualify for a Euro Passport soon as well? I was sure I read that recently.Originally posted by rhys1989 View Postfrom wiki:

To be fair the people saying that were ****ing loons thoughOriginally posted by Kiwi View PostI seem to remember about 4-5 seasons ago, comments by Liverpool supporters that Carragher
was not a Liverpool class player and Ged should hurry up get rid of him. Look what a bit of time and
patience can do.
Paletta has got a lot of qualities that suit him to our league, I want to see him play for us a few more times before I make a judgement either way on him.Like blood on iron

Exactly, Carra was hardly a world beater at the same age and look at him now.Originally posted by IrishPaul View PostPalleta is only a kid who has come halfway round the world to a huge club in a new country with a different culture to his own. Give him a chance FFS!!!
While I agree that he is nowhere near Carra as a CB, he does have time on his side and I'm sure with Rafa's coaching he'll become a really good player. Rafa must have seen something there if he signed him and they do breed some top defenders in Argentina.
Actually if I'm not mistaken when Carra started playing at CB for us, there weren't too many hot on the idea and look how that turned out. So give the kid a break for jayzus sake!!
Just cos he had one bad game against the arse in the Carling Cup doesn't make him a bad player FFS!!!
Whats happened to Paletta he's not been in the squad for ages, he used to appear on the bench now and then. There was talk of him going out on loan in Jan?In the life, of a man, there are times and there are seasons.

Six weeks out, still misses our matches though:
AMSTERDAM, March 12 (Reuters) - PSV Eindhoven defender Alex has torn a hamstring and is out for six weeks, missing their Champions League quarter-final tie against Liverpool, the Dutch club said on Monday.
Alex, who scored at both ends in PSV's 1-1 draw at Arsenal last week that sent them through to the last eight, sustained his injury seconds before halftime in the Dutch league match at Excelsior Rotterdam on Sunday.
The Brazilian international will miss both legs of the quarter-final tie against Liverpool in the first and second weeks of April.
PSV are top of Dutch league on 67 points with six matches remaining and host third-place Ajax Amsterdam on Sunday.
