    I think the fact that we have Riise, Kewell, Gonzales, Aurelio, Zenden and Garcia in our squad means you really don't have to worry about that.


    With the addition of Kuyt, I think we have a squad that can compete with anyone on the continent. Good defence, pace, great passers of the ball, goal scoring midfielders, and top quality strikers.

    This is Rafa's squad now, the past is definitely the past.

        Marco van Bawsten is a very influential voice where the Dutch players are concerened. He was not pleased that Jan Kromkamp wasnt first choice at LFC and wondered why JK bothered to move for reserve team football - a decision that eventually led him to losing his place in the Dutch team.

        Now Van Basten has told Huntelaar to stay in the Dutch Eredivisie for another year before moving - as he did with Dirk Kuijt last year.

        Kuijt (the English replace the 'ij' with a 'y') is a fine player - maybe not top class - and will do well in the premiership - as long as he is not asked to play a lone front man role. He may be a bit limited in Europe. I am convinced that he will bag at least a goal every 180 minutes.

        I've seen Dirk play for my local team here in Utrecht for three seasons and he was to Utrecht FC what Stevie G is to us.

        He wont let LFC down - or I'll wear cloggs.

        I'm exiled over here in Holland.

          Good post mate - Utrecht is a nice town. I always used to spell his name Kuijt, but then saw that he always had Kuyt on his back, even when playing in the Eredivisie - why is that? Let's hope you never have to wear those clogs...
