    Sports Journalist and former sport's editor of the Mail on Sunday Ian Stafford was interviewed on the Simon Mayo show on the BBC discussing the Champions League draw.

    A paraphrasing of what Stafford says follows below:

    Mayo: If Liverpool end up playing Man U in the final, they may as well move it to somewhere like Villa Park?

    Stafford: No, Hillsborough (laughs to himself)

    Rest of Panel: Total silence

    (long pause)

    Mayo: Errr, moving on..."

          Yeah I was streaming it live and listening to it at work, and I found it quite astonishing the cretin said it and actually found it amusing - you could hear someone say "oooh" as if to say it was a low blow. He chuckles as he says it as well. ******

                I suspect it's the former...it's like you have to be a "minimum required thickness" to engage in punditry of any kind.

                Some thick tw@t in the media would make some daft comment like this, and i would get all mad...now it honestly just amazes me.
